Even though it has been twenty years since the A-Team last graced the airwaves in its original run, most people have some memory of it: Be it saying "Fool" a lot, talking to an invisible dog, or just humming the theme music when working on a project.
As the years pass by, and especially now that we have the DVDs, how do YOU show that you are a tried and true A-Team fan? Do you have to watch them all in order no matter how much you want to skip ahead? Do you quote the lines that you know are coming like "I love it when a plan comes together?"
Tell us about your desires and habits here.

B.A. knew what bling-bling was before there was bling-bling. Everything and everyone else are cheap imitations.

Josie, Are those your lunchboxes or did you just find them? Are they plastic or metal? Do they have the thermoses?

I have to admit that the DAY the seasons came out, I went and got them. And I HAD to watch them in order...and if they were two-hour episodes, I made sure I had two hours to sit and watch them. Plus, you HAVE to sit through the opening and ending credits...and the episodes with teasers: You have to watch those too.

Josie, Are those your lunchboxes or did you just find them? Are they plastic or metal? Do they have the thermoses? The Buck Rogers one and A-Team one are metal, probably with raised pictures where the characters are, and would have a plastic Thermos with a cup in both with a set place to secure them if the sets are complete. They'd also probably fetch at least $70 (quite possibly more if in mint, complete condition) at antique store. There are quite a few floating about, so it's not hard to find them. Then again, I still have my Sesame Street, Strawberry Shortcake, Hugga Bunch and Popples ones somewhere. The latter three are plastic boxes with designs on the front. I found an "Emergency!" lunchbox at an antique shop in Gruene, and they wanted $70 for it with no Thermos and writing on it (why I didn't get it... other than the cost). The third one (the one we're trying to go cold turkey on around here) I think was made recently because to the best of my knowledge, I do not think one was made for the actual series (but it'd been cool if they did). You have to be careful though, they are making new versions of classic lunchboxes. I have one for Curious George and Star Trek (sorry, Billswoman, I don't know if they still make them. If I did and knew where Mom got mine, I'd tell you.) What I'd really like to find: An authentic "The Wild Wild West" one. I have a keyring with a minature version dangling off it. It's one of the few other shows I really like watching and would like to get the lunchbox of it... providing it isn't $70 or more. Maybe I should hunt in Gruene again for one and hope it's complete and not written over in permanent marker... (I know, this is the "Ya know you're a die hard A-Team fan" thread, not the "Ya know you're a die-hard lunchbox antique hunter - or an antique hunter in general - thread." )

I can throw my voice all the way from NY to Texas and speak through Mac. Thankfully she isn't in the 100 pound costume... it'd crush my knee.
Yes. Those are all my lunchboxes. The GAH is recent (last year). The Buck Rogers I got about 5 years ago on ebay. Still mint, never used, and with thermos.
The A-Team is from 1986. (You know... it was before season three....) I got it when I was in high school. I remember a friend telling me about it being for sale in a little shady discount shop in Brooklyn. (By that time they were already hard to find). I remember riding 1 1/2 hours (each way) on the subway to get to the place. It was the last one there... so I was thrilled. I used it every day, and I got a lot of hassle for it, too; I attached a long strap around it, and wore it as my purse. It is not in mint condition. Lots of rust on the inside. The thermos is gone. A lot of people would say "Awww... too bad." But my feeling is that it was USED and LOVED (and kept me from going to the senior prom, probably). So who cares about rust?
I was going to say that this should go into the You know you're a die hard fan section... but then saw that it is....

Collectors would say "Aw... too bad," but if you used it alot to have rust in it, it means more to you. I will say though, from a collector's point of view the Buck Rogers one is harder to find, mostly because the series ran for such a short period of time.
My Sesame Street one is a tad rusty on the inside, but not too bad. The thermos pretty much had the design washed out of it, but I used it every day until I was in the second grade, when Hugga Bunch was at the height of its popularity (This'll age me, but I remember when they sold the little dolls as clipons for about $1 or $1.99 with a purchase at Taco Bell).
The only collectible I think my parents are kicking themselves over now: an Apple IIe sold for $6,000 at an auction recently, and we had one we bought for $50 at a garage sale. Worked great (especially the funny answers to "Family Feud"), and we just up and gave it away. Shame really, because that was the first computer I used when I was in grade school (Yes, I"m old enough to remember green screen computers like they used in GAH. My first time with a color computer wasn't until I was in high school... probably sophomore year.)
(BTW, the Foghorn costume I wore weighed at most 10 pounds. If I had to wear the older one though, it'd been about 50-60. That's probably why I was Daffy the last day of regular season. The Fog costume there was an older one, and as such, they put me in a lighter costume for my health.)

I see he is having tea... but what does he say??"I pity the fool who doesn't enjoy the soothing taste of my chamomile blend." Hmmm... maybe they should've had him drink that more often then chloral hydrate in his milk or soda. Maybe he'd be cooler longer on flights.

Holy Guacamole! ok Here's an easy question... who remembers what B.A. stands for? slightly modded: Bad Arse (at least that's what is commonly bantered around. ) Mel, since you are OBVIOUSLY not a DIE-HARD A-Team fan, maybe you should refrain from posting here. B.A stands for his initials: Bosco Albert Baracus. The nickname: Bad Attitude.
