Gotta agree that the Normal Fackler lost in the sewers gag was strained and contrived. They shouldn't have just "forgotten" about him, and anyway, Ralph could have holographed for him after a phone call or two wasn't answered. That was indeed a weak point in the show.

Mona You and my wife would get along famously then watching that episode. I can see her point about it being too much...especially since Ralph can find bank robbers he has never met, but can't find a guy who he was in the office with and stuff. Just to forget about him was bad for the show...especially when he might have gotten shot and left down there for dead.

I think the only way they got around it being a gag is Fackler's glasses are broken and he gets lost because he's near sighted. However, I do agree that Ralph should've remembered to use the suit and find him. For all Fackler could know... Ralph could've been a tomato or rhubarb helping him out of the sewers (or just plain ghost, and turn invisible. )

You think that someone would have noticed regardless of the glasses. After all, they brought him down there and the guns started going off. Yes, it is important to save the kids, but you think someone could have paid enough attention to say "Where's Fackler?" BEFORE they left the sewers.

True, especially since it seemed that they paid more attention to the bad guys Ralph knocked out and then it goes to the office. In real life, that could've hurt them in the search for the prince.

Not only that, but why didn't the writers have Fackler YELL for help after the shooting stopped? Pam was still nearby as were a couple of the kids. Why not yell for help?

If we see him, I don't get it either, but if he's not there, they did the easy way and pretended he managed to walk into a doorjamb or overhang and knock himself out. (Don't laugh... they did this to Scotty in "Star Trek V" and he knew his ship, even the new Enterprise. )

All I can say is that the producers probably should've either had him run into something and get knocked unconscious or had him yell for help after the group had left chasing a bad guy who escaped. Would've made a better explanation either way then "Oh, we lost Fackler... no maybe he got out on his own given he's the head honcho of Wizards and Warlocks."

I still think they should have tried to find him...especially knowing how scatterbrained he could be after five minutes in the office with him.

I also love the fact that "Wizards and Warlocks" the video game is Intellivision's "Dungeons and Dragons." When I watched the ep for the first time last year I went "Hey... too cool, I remember playing that!" Sad thing was, I kept getting killed by the rats and spiders (the weakest characters in the game). Would've loved the music they played in the story (instead of "Pinball Wizard" but it doesn't bug me ) over what they used for the game. Then again, they had the little keyboards in the cartidges that seemed to play like a crazy electronic keyboard demo. They did eventually come up with a separate voice box too, which we purchased for a couple of the "special games" we bought from Toys-R-Us one time. It was funny because it would say "Space Spartans" in a boxy version of the narrator of "Superfriends" and B-17 bomber the voice dropped down to lower than a bass'. This wouldn't be so bad... except you didn't need to put the game in the voice box for it to say the same thing.

That is one of my gripes that PINBALL WIZARD was scrapped as I love the song and it would go well there to some degree. However, at least the music they substitute is relevant unlike some of the ones from the pilot or RESEDA ROSE.

They matched it pretty well with the arcade music of that time. Not perfectly, true, but a heck of a lot better than "Don't think that this is not your town," in the pilot. It doesn't match the ep in any way shape or form to what's going on. And, the '90s style music for the beginning part over "Help me Rhonda" is off as well. Now, if it had been set present day, it'd be a little better, since it has that teen-TV show feel to it. Even the replacement for "Edge of Destruction" at least fits somewhat ... in that it says "End of the world..." a bunch of times.

I showed this episode to my friend; it made his day to see a young Bob Saget, lol.
