Actually, my DVDs of Snake Island & Butch & Sundance arrived yesterday. I watched Snake Island last night.... it's quite a dumb movie, but WK was pretty good. But what the hell was up with those 2 women taking their tops off while dancing?? Horror movies - at least ones I've seen lately - seem to always have to have the women topless or nude at some point I guess. I think here it was supposed to be some sort of drunken type of orgy/dancing that they were trying to represent. Then again - if they insist on having the women take their tops off, why can't the guys parade in their underwear - or smile. Fair's fair there. Yeah, true. Well, that was the part of the movie I liked the least. Plus I felt it cheapened WK when he joined in. Anyway, I didn't find the movie scary at all. If it had been " Spider Island" on the other hand.... *shudder* I thought Rattled was better, anyway. (I just remembered I saw that one on TV many years ago!) ;D Feel the love. dolfyn.

I didn't like the scene either, but the one sorta redeeming factor was when the one woman was trying to hit on Katt's character and have him sleep with her, he says no. She says "Who would know?" He says "I would" and walks away. Nowadays, you'd have Katt's character hopping into the sack faster than anything. (And I"m like you and spiders, especially banana spiders. Had a stringing project where I had to take photos of a couple of places, and there were tons of them. They so creeped me out, but the guy who was driving me around only laughed at my reactions. So what? They're big and creepy doubly so when they actually do move. )

"Rattled" is just all around better, with a great cast, a decent story, & really nothing 'stupid' or 'unnecessary' in it. The ending had me almost yelling at the TV (not good when you're watching it at 2am & trying to be quiet ), but it's a great ending. I just tried searching for a trailer, but came up empty. And I'm pretty sure I tried recording my VHS to DVD only to have it stop after 20 seconds saying it's copy protected. I will try again, though, to make sure.

Of course, both weirded me out for the rest of the night, but, ehhh... I, too, was glad for that one redeeming factor of Katt's character saying "No" during that scene. I almost missed it though because I kept hitting the fast forward, then kept the mouse pointer hovering over the button shortly thereafter.

I also love the fact that apparently Katt's character also knows how a cricket bat is used too. Sure could weild it well. The shin guards... given what happens, they don't make any sense. Then again, what happens toward the end doesn't either knowing what I do about snakes.

You know, looking at this pic, and knowing it's at the end, how did he manage to get the scrape/cuts on his head? *Minor spoiler ahead* I have one guess, that he hit his head when he passed out, but still... it's a bit odd.

^ There really wasn't much logic to the movie at all; very silly. Well, Mel, we have lots of spiders & snakes here in Australia! Although, I've rarely seen a snake because I live in the suburbs. Spiders are always around, though. We have one called a "Huntsman Spider", which can't kill you or anything, but they're large & hairy & ugly, & they can bite! Imagine a skinnier, less hairy tarantula! I hate them! So I watched Butch & Sundance with my Mum last night, & we both loved it! I didn't expect it to be that funny! (But then, I haven't seen the original film!) Both actors were great & played off each other really well. Katt with a mo.... Mmmmm! hehee. Feel the love. dolfyn. ;D

I do seem to recall a close call with what may have been a cricket ball. If you remember the scene I am referring to...

Imagine a skinnier, less hairy tarantula! I hate them! Oh, I'd have "fun" there. Whenever we had tarantulas enter the concession stand at the Palo Duro Canyon during the musical drama "TEXAS," someone else would have to catch the critter and relase him back into the canyon. I'd stay away. Then again - the bravest of the group was the fellow who had to go down to the stage to remove one during an actual production. He had to try to catch the critter with a bunch of dancers performing and not get bit by the critter or stepped on by the dancers. Banana spiders are about two inches long, chubby black and yellow and make spiderwebs the same texture and thickness of those you can get in a store. Normally, they just laze about in their webs, but when they move - I think they're creepier than tarantulas. This was the first DVD I bought of Katt in something other than "GAH," and really enjoy watching it. People love to pick on the Katt and Berenger for their performances, but I think they did very well. I really like the saloon bit where Sundance doesn't want to hit a girl and Butch tells him "OK, we'll take her along." Sundance looks at the girl and then hits her. And, it was fun to see Christopher Lloyd in the role he played in this. Fit his acting well, and was too funny.

^ Heh, yeah I saw that one on YouTube. Nice work, Lauren. This was the first DVD I bought of Katt in something other than "GAH," and really enjoy watching it. I also loved it when Sundance kicked the bank guard in frustration when Butch didn't want to take all the money. People pick on their performances?? What for? I thought they were both great! (And I'm not just saying that as a Katt-fan.) I'm not into Westerns at all, but this was one of the few I really like. I found the whole movie very enjoyable & fun. ;D Feel the love. dolfyn.

They pick on their performances because this was made after the original "Butch and Sundance" and a lot of people compare them to their other movie counterparts. Personally, I enjoy this one better myself. I think the acting is very good here too, such as when Sundance is hurt and Butch has to cauterize the wound in order to keep Sundance from bleeding to death. Felt bad for Katt though - you can clearly see Berenger jump over Sundance and land on Katt's hand. Of course, Katt kept it in character, but still, that had to hurt.

Aw, poor WK! That was a great scene, though. I could really notice his blue eyes, too. ;D Katt was brilliant in that, & in the scene where he has the gun fight with Hanks, especially his reaction afterwards. Feel the love. dolfyn.

Sheesh - I hate spiders! (I'm starting to sound like Robert Fuller of "Emergency!" fame here though. ) But, at least the spider is celebrating "GAH" colors - he's got red and black.

All I have officially are the DVDs.
But...I also have... let's see... 2 GAH ringtones, GAH background on my phone, GAH text message alert tone on my phone, GAH startup, shutdown and error tones for the computer, many cool computer backgrounds... and that's it. :-)

I like the attack Koala. Yeah, mostly creatures I don't wanna be near, but the song is cute. And the editor of the video did a great job with it!

Well, I've lived in Australia all my life (although I've visited a few other countries too) & I've been to our mountains, our sub-tropics, our bushland & our outback. I've never had a problem with any of our deadly native creatures trying to sting/bite/eat me. And it's the same story with most people here that I know. It's 95% being careful & 5% luck. Really, it's no different to the US. You guys have your own fair share of nasties: cougars, bears, rattlesnakes, etc. It just comes down to not doing anything too silly when you're in places where there's dangerous wildlife. And we don't really come across much of it in the suburbs! ;D Feel the love. dolfyn.

And we don't really come across much of it in the suburbs! ;D Feel the love. dolfyn. Been very lucky most of the critters I've seen here (a wolf, copperheads (fortunately no rattlers), scorpions (small and very dangerous ones), tarantulas, porcupines, raccoons, possums, centipedes, and skunk) as they have been out of the way of my path or in the protection of a car. The scariest near encounter I had was when I was nearly run over by a bison at college during an American football though. ************************ But, given some of the things I've seen at the Palo Duro Canyon as far as the animals, you'd think people would get that if you stay away from the critters they usually won't bother you. (Had one person stung by a centipede because they chose to sit on a rock that had the critter on it). Only ones we really had to deal with making a visit to the concession stands at "TEXAS" were tarantulas, which were just caught and released.
