I think Mona did a great job representing the forum. Thanks for carrying on the tradition!
*round of applause*
Anyway, Ms B, as you have said in a response to one of my posts, he remembers you anyway!
Aren't you having him over to your house for tea sometime next week?
Or was that you were going to his house....

Oh, come on, Ms B!
Pants at tea time?! How tacky!
At least wait until dessert...

Too bad I don't know how to use a lasso properly - maybe I could rope him in to a convention here in Texas so I can have the chance to meet him. (But, if I do, I won't do the whole joke bit... would come out a bit garbled because I'd probably be blushing when I asked ).

I've heard a strange rumour here in Italy, I don't know if it is true...
I've heard that William Katt is the coolest biological life-form of the 20th century... is it true?

Depends who you ask.
Ms. B: Of course. Silly questions.
Mona: Maybe second coolest, after Robert Culp...
HD: Maybe second coolest, after Connie Selleca...

One that talks, I agree with that statement. Anyone who goes out of their way to give an autograph to someone who sent them a letter - including handwriting the envelope (a rarity now), definitely is one of the coolest actors I know. But, there's also a stingless jellyfish that will glow with these really neat neon edges that is also really cool too, so I have to give kudos to them too.

Well, we're not talking about acting...
I've just heard he's the coolest form of life of 20th century. That's it.

Well, we're not talking about acting... I've just heard he's the coolest form of life of 20th century. That's it. I wasn't just referring to his acting. Some actors make you pay to have anything signed nowadays - even if brought by you - while others totally say no or ignore their fans. Katt - as an actor and human, has shown a different standpoint there. When I wrote that letter, I didn't put my address anywhere on it because I wasn't asking for anything - I just wanted to say thanks for sharing his talents and being an inspiration to people. So, imagine my surprise when he asked Ms B for my address so he could send something to me - something he didn't have to do. While I haven't been able to meet him in person, I've read from others he's very personable and will chat with them, not just sign an autograph, say hi, shake the person's hand and move on. Plus, he makes sure credit is given where it is due, such as Arcana also drawing the "GAH" comic. He makes sure everyone gets kudos on things such as the comic book - he's never taken full credit for getting the thing started, because he knows it's a team effort.

Jo, MAYBE second coolest?? HELLO! Which Mona are you referring to??? MAYBE? Robert Culp set the STANDARD for cool back in "I Spy", and has maintained it ever since. He's NUMBER ONE. (Then comes Patrick Macnees "John Steed", as friendly as Katt), and THEN, the sweet, friendly William Katt. As I see things. Mona

As far as cool, Culp is so cool, he's hot.

My pleasure! It's fun having folks to share things like that with! On one of my shifts supervising students in our medical clinic yesterday, I told my students I had met William Katt from the old TV show "The Greatest American Hero" over the weekend, and one student doc actually got all excited and said he used to LOVE the show. Of course he mentioned the theme song and so forth. The others stared at me as if I I had just recited "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" in Russian. No clue of the show at all. Alas! If only we didn't have so many patients to see, I'd bring my TV and a DVD of TGAH and force them all to watch it. Mona

Mona! Make new accolytes! I agree if that's true - if people don't want to follow it, they should at least watch the show once. It's a show that apparently has enough of a catch that Hot Topic (a goth/punk/emo type store here in the United States) briefly made shirts with the "GAH" emblem on them. They don't sell them anymore though - but still, shows at least how familiar the show is.

We actually do have one adjunct instructor at the medical school who is a huge Star Wars fan and walks around his classroom waving a fake light saber.... I could wear my Deluxe edition GAH cape one day, perhaps in my gastro lecture, or seeing a pediatric patient.... Mona

'GAH' is an american instituition... I will admit that it really did help spinoff shows such as "Heroes" because it showed how you could have an average person with an average life end up doing something extraordinary. Every other show prior to that pretty much the person already had the powers or was destined to do so (i.e. Shazam or Isis), or even then were wealthy enough to become costumed heroes in their own way (Batman).
