I hope it is good. I hate bad scripts.
I like SJC and his work, but I worry about what it might have taken to get this through the studio.

There's always that risk, but at the same time - given what happened before - I'd hope that he'd put his foot down on certain things. Biggest ones - not turn it into chasing monsters, keep it kid-friendly, and truer to the original show than things such as what we're hearing about "The A-Team."

I read... somewhere... that SJC said that even though PG13 is the goal for action movies, they ended up with a PG script. I'd say that's a good sign, atleast. Gonna try to find that one again...

Yeah, leave the chasing monsters part to the comic. ;D (look at the sig, folks. It may have killed the show... BUT I ENJOYED IT! )

At least with "BITB," you have a real life situation - the fear of death and afterlife/superstitions. Plus, you have the fear of losing your best friend in a tragic accident. Not real sure about "Devil" and "Shock" on a real-life human feeling/situation so much - at least with most of the world.

Just because it is PG doesn't mean that it is anything near the original series. After all, HEROINE is probably G-rated and look how much most people hate it.

The only thing that I have to say about "GAHeroine" is that it also was butchered to where it didn't make sense and Holly was miscast. That's probably why many strongly dislike it. If they were able to make the whole 2-hour plot, there could've been questions answered that made sense, such as why Ralph's ego was so large (it could've progressed in character), and a stronger actress in Holly might've made the words she said more believable. There was the chance that people might've actually liked the show.

Sure, the monster was really lame, but the rest of that episode was hilarious! Feel the love. dolfyn. ;D

BitB was fantastic. Aside from the cheesy electric monster, "The Shock, etc" was fantastic. And, "Devil", with that scene of Ralph telling Bill why he wanted his Fed friend to come down to the island, and several other ones, the broad Bill smile when he admits he wants to believe just what he wants to believe, etc. so many scenes, is fantastic.
Even if they did a "monster" theme they kept in what made the show so great--people being real people, humor, and fellow-feeling between them.

Mona Oh, I love the episodes too - "BITB" and "Shock" are among my top 10 favorites. I just didn't feel there was much of a big real life human situation in "Shock" and "Devil" as there was in "BITB." In the case of "BITB," there was the scenario of losing a friend - even briefly - and how people react to such news (Ralph's emotions after Cyler says Bill's gone). The other two IMO are a bit more of a fun romp - fighting bad guys and trying to get the monster. Either way, when Cannell was thrown that spanner, he made it still work where he had Ralph, Pam and Bill in a normal life mostly even with the monsters.

"Shock" didn't concentrate so much on the monster as on Ralph's reluctance to go up against it, not knowing if he was strong enough to take on something that wasn't Earth-born. Anybody else would have gone in with the attitude of "I'm the one with super powers, I'll take care of it." Instead, he was scared s#!tless!! Some episodes focused more on the theme of "heroes are human" than others, and for me, this was one of them. Another thing I noticed is that Bill wasn't as freaked out by the idea of an alien Jello mold as he was of the more intelligent and peaceful Greenguys. True, he never actually laid eyes on it or even completely believed in it, but I have a feeling that if Ralph chickened out or was defeated, Bill would have gone in, guns blazing.
