Okay, my girlfriend was watching the last few episodes of Season 2 and she is continuously bugged by something that I must not answer adequately enough. She wants to know why Ralph has to get completely undressed. After all, he can stop bullets and be strong and fast with the suit on underneath his clothes...as long as a little bit shows...and he is learning to do holographs without having to be completely in the suit. She wants to know why he can't fly with clothes on because she watched him turn invisible with half his clothes on in the last couple episodes. I said it was due to the logistics of flying that some things probably get in the way and the suit needs to be free-flowing. However, in IT'S ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE, he was flying in some huge red ski boots it showed (probably a bad edit, but it showed it)...and I have to agree that his tie is not going to cost him much air speed (WHO'S WOO IN AMERICA). Just wondering what everyone thought.

Greenguy put it simply, and I paraphrase: because what kinda show would they have had?
I'd asked, Why doesn't Ralph simply fly invisible, so curious eyes are kept off him?
Wouldn't have been as fun if he hadn't been running around in the red jammies, would it? The green guys could've just as easily given him a fancy bracelet or something, ala Wonder Woman and her devices.

True enough. Sometimes he gets invisible for a while and then comes back because he can't control it. I think that is part of the fun too, but she even hated it after the pilot because he could not fly right. She gets upset for the characters. Yeah, Wonder Woman had too many fancy toys.

That was my main gripe about GAH when it was being aired: His flying. Sure, I can see the first few eps, him bumbling around and stuff, but Season Three? Wouldn't you think by then he had it down-pat?
I'd just roll my eyes and turn the volume down (still do, actually) and wait for it to be overwith.
I know he has his rare moments, like when he's saving Pam and/or Bill and has to focus (eg, in Fire Man, when the dude's about to torch Bill, Ralph actually lands cleanly right in front of Bill to shield him... and that was one of the earlier eps!)

I know...and by the end of the second season, his main crashes tend to be into buildings. Also, if he is carrying someone, he seems less able to control himself. I always did like the bad flying...more realistic I guess since he doesn't know the suit mechanisms. I don't like it all the time, but sometimes it works well still...even in Season 3.
