Love this episode! Just watched it for the first time and it really got me excited for more, lol. The kids really added a lot, and great moments between people, like Rhonda and Pam and Ralph, with Bill or Tony.
OK here come the bullet points again, lol:
1. Great job on the opening class room scene. Teachers are so important, yet so under appreciated in our society. I could really understand Ralph's pain at the idea that teaching the underachievers reflects badly on him, which is nonesense. It's a lot harder teaching underachievers and people should be praised for it. I always loved the idea that The Greatest American Hero was a teacher and that he didn't give up his job just to be the "hero."
2. Tony really is right out of an old gangster movie with his talk of beating the system, lol. And one of my favorite lines of the episode: "Oh no it's Maxwell! He's probably got his gun and everything." Lol
3. OK, Bill's friend is an idiot; he stops being friends with someone just because they flunk one vague question on an "oh so reliable" (sarcasm) "lie detector" test?! As Ralph said, "No wonder recruitment is down!" Lol
4. Ironic how Ralph's annoyed at Bill interrupting their dinner, when in later episodes they never seem to do anything without Bill, lol.
5. Does Ralph ever get around to explaining to his students why he's suddenly friends with this FBI agent? And why he seems to be at his beck and call? I mean if it were your teacher, wouldn't you find that strange? lol
6. Ralph's Beatles comment. I mean he's basically saying some people of his rebellious generation were all talk, while people like Bill were actually making a difference in the world. Like I mentioned for the pilot, these two guys on supposedly opposite sides are actually able to come to an understanding. : )
7. "There goes another one..." Ralph goes through a lot of clothes, lol. Btw, is it just be or was there a lot of over dubbed dialogue on this show?
8. I love how Ralph says essentially the same thing to Tony and Bill about the other. That you get to like them once you get past all the cockiness. : )
9. Gotta love Ralph bringing back the wine bottle at the end, lol. Though again, I gotta say, still channeling Kotter a bit! ; )
That's about it for now. Deal from strength! ; D
