Stephen J. Cannell and William Katt have teamed up with March of Dimes to release the first ever trading card of the beloved television series Greatest American Hero. This product will also be all sketch cards and the proceeds from the sales go to March of Dimes, too.

So will the trading cards only be available that way or is there a chance it will filter down to stores and such with other organizations? I would love to see the profits go to St. Jude's myself.

This is the first time I've heard of this and I usually hear about stuff like this on other websites or tv. Marci, any info on what the cards will look like and what art will be on it? (comic specific or stuff we haven't seen yet?) Sounds very cool though!

Okay...I've unlocked this thread just so it can continue on topic about the expected trading card release.
After spending a bit of time thinking about it after unlocking this thread, I'm going to say this totally p***es me off that a thread about a freakin trading card was turned into claims of "infatuation" etc. Come on, get real...we are all fans here. Fan is short for fanatic, and just because we are fans over this show, or the actors, etc does not mean that one cannot think clearly about situations.
More and more of this seems to be happening lately, and it gives me the thought to just pull the plug on the whole board.
If anyone wants to discuss that sort of thing (meaning the claims of animal abuse) it needs to go to the off topic section. Thanks

Marci, just thought of this - I wonder if the sketch cards will be actual cards like we'd get in say a Pokemon trading cards pack as well as possible "bonus" cards which would be sketch concepts of say the comic/animated short and others such as Behind the Scenes with the trio recording their parts or general photos of backstage stuff.
Will say it'll be interesting to see though.

I would love to see trading cards about the original series.

I would love to see trading cards about the original series. I think Billswoman had made a couple of parodies of the trading cards with cartoon voice bubbles that would do a parody of the show, similar to our popular "But, they didn't say that" thread. Don't remember where they are though, but they were cool. Sketch cards are cool though too, because in some cases we get to see concepts for a show or comic, such as in the case of "Sparks" - there are a couple of pictures floating around that feature a different concept of a couple of the scene. Another good example is the original suit design - which was brown with red trim and a different emblem in the center.

Thought about this today when sketching a couple of ideas I had for fused glass pendants and remembering them doing something like this to raise money for charity in the UK.
One thing I'd think would be neat would be to have all of the original cast participating in the animated shorts to possibly do a doodle sketch for fun - of anything, signing them, and maybe have a limited number of prints made of the doodles and placed in random packs (this mind you if they're doing them as packs and not individual cards).
