This has probably been mentioned before and if it has I apologize. I tried doing a search but I don't know if my lack of any results is due to there being no results or operator error. Anyway, I recently found on eBay two copies of unproduced scripts for TGAH. Culp's "Long Fall at 10, 2, and 4" (which I did find mentions of in the forum) and another titled "They Came From Outer Space" written by Jeff Bailey and Marty Golia. The script is marked "first draft 2/22/82." Anyone out there know of this one already? I know ScriptCity has some TGAH scripts (including "Long Fall") but I don't recall seeing this one in the listing over there. I've read "Long Fall" and am now reading "They Came..." I'm only a few pages into it. Did I stumble on a rarity or is it old news?

I believe both have been mentioned and discussed, but not for quite some time. How are they in your opinion?

I'm only a few pages into it. Did I stumble on a rarity or is it old news? They Came from Outer Space was written by two guys who were hoping to break into the business. (I've always assumed they were not successful since I've never seen either credited with anything) At least that's what I was told back in 1989/1990 when I was given the copy I have. It's not a real unproduced script from the Cannell files such as Long Fall. It's been making the rounds for the last few years as a legit unproduced script, but it's not. My copy included a story outline for another proposed TGAH script called Loose Ends by the same two guys, this one had to do with a ancient mummy. Do the copies being sold contain this? Real unproduced scripts are marked with a production number and the studio name, copyright notice, etc. I've heard that several writers had story outlines for TGAH episodes that Cannell never greenlighted. I've been told one was a time travel story where Ralph and Bill travel back in time to clear Maxwell's father's name. The writer said it never got off the ground because the time period to be depicted on screen was too expensive for Cannell Productions to bankroll. Excluding Culp's Long Fall script for the first season I think 2 other scripts were unproduced. Those have not surfaced anywhere that I know of. I also believe 3 unproduced scripts remain packed away from the 2nd season also and have never been made public.

Talk about getting side tracked here. Sorry y'all!
I did finish "Long Fall" and found it interesting, although a couple of parts I was confused at and will have to go back and read again at some point. (Ironic since I'd like to try my hand at writing a script, I suppose it would help if I could learn to read one).
I have not had a chance to resume reading "They Came..." but I will say the orange slurpee thing sticks in my head. LOL
"Long Fall" has the copyright notice but no production number. There's two dates on it for April 10 and April 16, 1981.
"They Came..." has no copyright notice. It also has no outline for another story.

Well that's weird about Long Fall having no production number on your copy. My copy has the same dates as yours, and you should be able to find the production number in the top left hand corner of every page starting with page one of Act One. It's #9609, so if you don't have one I can only guess someone retyped the entire script for copying to sell and omitted the number. I nabbed my copy over 20 years ago so it wasn't made from the current batch making the rounds. You won't find a number on They Came From Outer Space as it never went through Official Cannell Production channels. Too bad you do not have the outline for the mummy story, it reads better than They Came From Outer Space, at least to me.

Oooh I would have loved to see a time travel type of episode.....or perhaps even enemies of the little green guys disguised as earthlings who try to steal the suit away from Ralph....? Goofy idea, I know. I missed this type of writing so bad....

Oooh I would have loved to see a time travel type of episode..... Funny you mention time travel. I've been told a time travel scenario was written that had Ralph going back to the 1940's to clear the name of Maxwell's father who also worked for the FBI, and had been accused of corruption. Cannell passed on the script because of the cost.
