I keep wondering what sort of episodes we may have gotten if the show hadn't been prematurely cancelled? Is there a thread for speculations about what direction a 4th and/or 5th season might have involved? The more I've been watching it this weekend, the more I think about "what could have been?" The chemistry between the leads was too good to have let die.... What other undiscovered powers would the suit have?

I think we would have seen an issue where Ralph had to save astronauts in space for one. Can the suit do that?

don't see why not. I am sure the green guys would have put that function in the suit.

He can hold his breath, but not for THAT long, plus the atmospheric changes are immense. In the comic book, Ralph inhales poison air and for some idiotic reason feels compelled to go up into outer space to release it, when, say, going up even one mile would have been plenty. But, we don't know the limits of the suit. We've seen Ralph knocked out by an explosion wearing the suit. To say that he could easily traverse outer space (with no air) is highly unlikely to me. Mona

It was going that way, that they really cared for each other, and were easy and casual together, with some spice for entertainment. I was more interested in Ralph and Bill's relationship than Ralph and Pam's. I honestly didn't think Connie was a very good actress, to be honest, if that isn't heresy. Mona

Mona Mona, I agree on the space issue. I'm not sure the suit has that function. If it does, I see it being triggered by the instruction book, which they don't have. That's why I think it would be an interesting episode. Maybe one where they fail...? I like the Bill and Ralph relationship too, but my favorite one has always been Pam and Bill. They seem to be the angel/devil roles of convincing Ralph to do stuff with the suit. I don't really believe Bill is the devil, but his ideas are always more personally/professionally gratifying to him because he believes that is right. Plus, they are a hoot with their back-and-forth. It would have been neat to see the kid and Bill has to deliver the baby while Ralph is fighting bad guys. And Bill becoming the godfather.

I am sure we would have had a time travel one too at some point.

I am sure we would have had a time travel one too at some point. Very likely. It would have been great to have a BACK TO THE FUTURE 2 type episode where they couldn't let past them see future them or it would ruin a past mission.

Hello, HoudiniDerek, Yes, definitely the Pam/Bill interactions were very good!!! But, let's understand Bill better than thinking he always had to force his way. With rescuing children in the forest or helping wild horses, we saw Bill put up a little battle and then immediately give in and really appreciate he was a part of both. He's a complicated character and as the show was progressing we were learning so much about him and his nuances. He's much more complicated than Pam, for example. That moment the two were in the car alone and Pam said he hated women, and Bill responded strongly he didn't, and then shared that he always loved seeing his mother, when she came by, if she hadn't been drinking; moments like that I think slowly bring Pam and Bill together. Plus, in the Nazi episode, notice how grateful Pam is that Bill is there, in front of her, protecting her from whatever happens. It's something in life to bicker with someone but then to know that someone would indeed die for you is deeply touching. Bill mellowed as well, as the episodes progressed--we see his outer self is the anti-Russian tough FBI agent, but inside he is extremely vulnerable, loves Harlan, and he has a great sense of humor. And, we see over and over that he is, absolutely, a good guy. Rose saw that immediately. I think Pam sees that, too. Her deal is that Ralph spends so much time with Bill, and the suit, and Bill tricks them into helping him out. Even the writers realized Bill was the most interesting character--we learn so much back story of his life, and see much more of his work place than Bill as teacher. And, even in those few episodes we saw Bill grow and evolve so much. But, more time with Bill alone with Pam would have been wonderful indeed! Mona

Mona,
I don't think Bill was truly the devil or self-serving. I think that he tried to use the suit the best way he knew how, which was to fight bad guys. I like that they had episodes like DESPERADO and such. It's fun to see Bill's true nature come out regardless of how he tries to hide it. I always like that quality in the character.
It was sad that Pam wasn't fleshed out more. I think the dynamic would have been even more fun with that. Some more great moments between both Pam and Ralph as well as Pam and Bill could have really made the connections that much more heartwarming. I liked their good-natured bickering, but I hated that Pam was the one jealous of the suit and the partnership.

I am sure we would have had a time travel one too at some point. Rudolph Borchert tried selling that script idea, but it was too expensive at the time. However, had the series lasted two more years that would have been when The A-Team was a huge hit. So maybe Cannell if bringing in enough $ with that success, might have ponied up the scratch to spend on a time travel episode for TGAH.
