Here's a link to the pre-order on Amazon in case anyone is interested. www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B073LYWG4V/Funny that the new box art is a cross between the Anchor Bay 1st season release, and the Mill Creek complete series set. No word on if Heroine is included, and more than likely the WIDESCREEN listed in the stats is wrong.

That's great to know that they're being re-issued. However, I'm perfectly happy with my limited edition Anchor Bay black metal tin set.

Holy cheeseballs, Batman! I'm good. I've got all three seasons already, so I'm good. I was, however, thinking of getting a set for each of my nieces and my nephew (the kids I used to sit for...yeah, we're still that close). Eh, the oldest is in her second year of college, so maybe I'll get her a used set for her overdue hs graduation present, and then give one to the younger sister and the brother when they each graduate high school. Unless I win the lottery. It's a nice dream anyway. Okay. Rambling over.

Same here...I have the Anchor Bay original release, the Japanese DVDs, and the Japanese Blu ray set. Unless there was some new bonus material in the new release I doubt if I will buy it, unless it was to be a gift.
I WOULD buy it if all the music was put back, but I doubt if that will happen.
If a blu ray set would be released here in the U.S. I WOULD buy that again.

The only thing that would make me buy another one is if there are substantial extra features that make it worthwhile or the original music.

Greenguy, you have the Japanese Blu-rays? How do they look? Is it a very noticeable improvement? Were they fully restored and remastered? (Sorry, that's a lot of questions lol)

The only thing that would make me buy another one is if there are substantial extra features that make it worthwhile or the original music. I always wondered why the foreign releases can have the original music but the US ones had to replace it. Is it that the foreign companies ponied up the money for the songs or they just are not held by the same license deal for music rights that the US has?
They could have done it if they wanted I guess. All the old Saturday Night Live DVD's have the original music while the SCTV ones have many songs blanked out, overdubbed or the skit is just plain missing.

It probably has something to do with international property rights or something. I have never purchased a foreign set because I'm never sure if they will play on my ancient VHS/DVD device.
