With the series getting a new DVD release, I thought I would check the current Amazon reviews of the show and a portion of this one cracked me up:
This could have been a lot better.
I mean, seriously, how would you lose a manual TWICE.
Not only that, but to even get no information from the ones you get it from. - Really?
Even with all that, the character should have been able to figure out the simplest of functions.
Flying shouldn't have been that much of a task to master after the first 6 months, but not getting after more than a year... Come on!
Well...I must agree on losing the book a 2nd time. Back when it aired I KNEW there would be groans about that. However, I have no better thoughts on how to lose it again. Plus the audience should realize going in he will NEVER have the instructions because that would change a MAJOR part of the series format. One just must accept that. Heroine's greenguy's saying "we have no more to give" I thought was worse that Ralph losing it a 2nd time.
The character DID figure out the simplest of functions, and became quite good at it. However, my favorite part of the review is "Flying shouldn't have been that much of a task to master after the first 6 months"
LMAO!! Yes, because all humans master the art of flying in a couple of months after learning to walk!
One can see by the third year most of Ralph's flying had improved, with the just the landings being difficult. The early days of his arms and legs kicking wildly were gone, and it was pretty much straight line flying in the final year's sequences.
