I was watching THE HIT CAR last night and I noticed the scene about Ralph telling Bill that he was happy he was including Pam, but that he should do it with more sensitivity. It was an odd moment for me because prior to that, Ralph had just co-opted Pam's help on the play at Whitney High without asking her. He just informed the group that it was happening. The look on Pam's face shows her surprise.
At least Bill was honest with his assessment of Pam. He was seeing her as third string utility back-up and he told her what he thought that meant. It played through to the house in Santa Barbara too when he was upset there was no food. It was nice to see their little exchange in the kitchen over dog biscuits, so it's easy to see how that dynamic changed over time.
I think Ralph's way of treating Pam changed too, but this was the first time I ever really noticed that Ralph treated her that way. To me, I find it worse than how Bill treated her because he seemed to expect her help without asking. Makes the relationship seem lopsided.
What does everyone else think?
