Maybe Greenguy or J-Man knows, but why did Eve of Destruction stay in the A-Team DVD releases, but not the Greatest American Hero?
Granted, if I had to choose one show over the other, I would have chosen the A-TEAM, because I feel it fit better. Watching OPERATION:SPOILSPORT over the weekend, the song they substituted was okay to me. Sometimes the songs don't add a ton to the scenes where they put them. I'd almost rather have dialogue than forcing in a song.

Although The A-Team was created by Cannell, it was a Universal TV series. That's why in the end credits we see the Universal logo, then the AND Stephen J. Cannell Productions. When Cannell left Universal to form his own production company, he owed Universal one more project. That project became The A-Team, and any dough to license music for the DVDs etc would have come from the studio. TGAH was totally owned by Cannell, so any music fees would have been paid directly out of his company pocket.

It's a shame sometimes that GAH wasn't a property owned by another studio so we might have kept the music. Of course, Universal didn't pay for all of the music either...

Yep, that is correct. The A-Team has it's own music replacements.
Although, I have no clue if that's because certain tunes were too expensive. Or if the artist wouldn't license those songs again.
