I know that we have talked in the past about Bill only getting a somewhat passing grade from the Greenguy panel in this episode. And the fans of the show, especially the Bill Maxwell fans, have been up in arms about it. Having been a fan of the series, I agree that it seems like Bill was being cast off as inadequate and unhelpful to the show's efforts. For whatever reason last night, I was thinking about this scene in HEROINE and wondering if we were missing some more subtle context to it. After all, in both DIVORCE and VANITY, the Greenguy came to Ralph and Bill to ask about the partnership and why it wasn't working. We know that Ralph had his ego explode in the sequel and we had seen elements of that in the series with them both. Maybe they were just relating it in a way to Pam and Ralph that Bill was not their first choice. Much like Ralph, Bill had been adequate in his duties. Just a deep thought on a Saturday night.
