Been pretty quiet around here lately. I just wanted to mention that the 40th anniversary of a silly little show about a guy in a cape and red tights is coming up soon.
Oh, yeah, and William Katt is about to turn 70! Boy do I feel old...
40 years ago, the pilot had already been filmed, and they were plunging ahead into season 1. Good times.

Hard to believe it's been that long, and that so many people involved in the series have passed away. A little something I came up with.

Awesome. I love TGAH. Anybody know if the show will ever be on blu ray? That would be the GREATEST. Little pun there.

I would love to see a true blu ray release of the show. The Japanese set from a few years ago are just upscales, not a true HD scan of the series. With Cannell gone now, it seems no one cares about updating his catalog into HD. The A-Team now has HD prints, but that’s because Universal has controlling interest in the show. That leaves fans of TGAH, Hardcastle, Riptide, Hunter, etc with SD. To me that’s crazy since many of his shows are streaming everywhere. Heroes & Icons still runs TGAH on weekends after several years. It’s not like his shows are no longer seen. Back in March of 2020 Shout Factory acquired rights to a ton of his series, unfortunately not for physical release just streaming only is my understanding. They’ve hardly done anything with those shows at this point, so I was hoping maybe they were ponying up the cash and quietly having a bunch of those series mastered into HD. I think it’s wishful thinking and probably not really happening. That’s one reason I bought some A.I. software and I’ve been transferring TGAH into 1920x1080 HD using the Japanese DVDs with original music as the source material.
Sorry for the long winded answer, when the answer is no. I still hold out hope if a short lived 80s series like The Master can be released on blu, I see no reason why TGAH would be an absolute no.
