Nice find! I would love to see V The Series on blu ray, even though the hour long episodes are nowhere near as good as the mini-series. Want me to go get it for you? Thanks, but I already own it.

"Plague" was always one of my favorites; Ralph and Bill's hypochondria is hilarious. "Don't! I just had coffee!" I watched "The Shock Will Kill You". Though some thought it was too "out there" for the series, I never got that since the entire premise of the show was based around the existence of extraterrestrial life, but it seemed the focus of the episode was more about the guy with superpowers freaking out about going up against the monster while human Bill had far more confidence in him (while staying behind to cover the rear). I got to like the episode even more after I started reading Lovecraft, and I wonder if whoever designed the creature was also a fan of ol' H.P. LOL...yes I agree about the hypochondria. "You don"t have it...I'm dyin over here...You don't know what it feels like..." The Shock Will Kill You took a long time for it to grow on me, and recognize some of the good comedy bits the episode has among other things. I except the fact aliens gave him the suit, but an octopus monster from outer space was too much even for my 15 year old self at the time. However, it's not my least favorite episode. Glad to see you posting again, and nice you were able to carve out some time to watch a couple of episodes.

PLAGUE is definitely a good one, especially when Pam tells them that they wouldn't be sick that soon.

My favorite line from Fire Man is "I've got the gun and I drank all the booze. What else could you be looking for?" The man was a genius with dialogue. That is a good one! So much of the scripted dialogue is very close to what would up in the finished episodes, but Culp was a MASTER at tweaking things to really make it his own. That's not even taking into account whole chunks of dialogue he came up with, at least I suspect it was him. Oh yeah, it was him. I can practically guarantee it. Rewriting dialogue to suit himself was a long-standing habit of his, going at least back to the early 1960s. He even had the temerity to rewrite Rod Serling's dialogue. And one of the likeable things about Fire Man is that Culp was clearly having a blast playing Maxwell. Videofox says: ""Plague" was always one of my favorites; Ralph and Bill's hypochondria is hilarious. "Don't! I just had coffee!"" Something I like about "Plague" is the way Pam just rolls her eyes and stays calm while everyone around her is descending into hypochondria. The thing I really like is the dramatic midair rescue and Bill's near-death experience. Videofox: "I watched "The Shock Will Kill You". I got to like the episode even more after I started reading Lovecraft, and I wonder if whoever designed the creature was also a fan of ol' H.P." I rather like "Shock" because I think the suit needs a challenge once in a while. For Ralph's superpowers, taking down drug dealers and terrorists is not much harder than helping little old ladies cross the street. I get that they wanted to stick with real-world problems for the most part, but sometimes we need to see a situation where we can actually wonder if there's something out there that's more powerful than Ralph is. We need to see a real threat to him. "Beast in the Black" is the same kind of thing. As for the monster, I'll have to take another look. I'm not a big fan of Lovecraft but I've read a few of his stories. It would be pretty hilarious if Ralph was actually battling Chthulu...

Glad to see you posting again, and nice you were able to carve out some time to watch a couple of episodes. Thanks. I've been lurking off and on without logging in to see what's going on. Granted, I know there's not a whole lot with the franchise right now to discuss, as there's been no new talk of another (failed) revival attempt. To be honest, I really don't want Hollywood bringing the show back right now as it's more likely they'll find some way to screw it up. The only advantage to a revival that I can see, even if it's bad, is sparking interest in the original show and inspiring new waves of official merchandise based on it. As for the monster, I'll have to take another look. I'm not a big fan of Lovecraft but I've read a few of his stories. It would be pretty hilarious if Ralph was actually battling Chthulu... [/quote][/div] ...or at least a Star Spawn. I imagine a side story where some 80s Cthulhu cult summons a Star Spawn, it accidentally slams into the space shuttle, becomes addicted to this new power source called "electricity", raids a hydroelectric power plant and learns the hard way that electricity and water don't mix. "Hoist by it's own petard," as it were.

So how was the week off? What all did you do? It was a good week off, and very productive. I watched the whole run of the show, sometimes while working on the website. I've been switching things up, adding some new stuff and deleting old or incorrect material. I put together a few things for the upcoming commentary, and have started work on a big project of using A.I. software to enhance the episodes from SD 720x480 to HD 1920x1080 but keeping the original 4:3 aspect ratio of course. The episodes will contain the original teasers for all 3 seasons recreated from the enhanced HD material when possible, since a few teasers contain shots not found in the finished episodes I will be forced to source those from lower quality video and upgrade it as best I can. All versions of the original bumpers recreated from the enhanced HD material inserted in the correct "as night of broadcast" spots will added, and of course the original music. All fun stuff to work on, but it takes a lot of time.

Keep us posted? and THANK YOU for all you do!!!

Keep us posted? and THANK YOU for all you do!!! For sure I will keep the forum posted on the progress, and other details. I've been working on the upcoming commentary, so I have not devoted much time to the project lately other than working on creating the Christopher Nelson solo producing credit for some of the 3rd season shows. I have the text of the credits built and the wipe across the screen to make them appear, but I'm going to need to purchase After Effects to attempt to create the moving star FX that moves across the wipe to reveal the words. If I fail at that, worse case is that I will have to use lower quality footage for those quick shots. Lucky the Don Cervantes name remains intact in one episode of the opening credits, so I can cut that in to the appropriate episodes, but I will have to create the correct Sellecca credit for some episodes. I will also use the 3 different versions of Believe It or Not in the episodes as they were originally heard on ABC. Thanks for the good words, much appreciated! I did have this video link posted in another thread in case you missed it www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTDdlzCTDuw
