The thing I like about the filming of this show is that it does in a way let the public see what's goes on in a theater. Not many have actually been to a professional production, but what people complain as bad audio is actually what you'd hear at a theater (the echo of the actors' voices and such.) It's actually neat on that level too... ... of course, I bought it because Katt's the lead, but Ben Veeren is also a legend as well. He's one of my favorite actors in the "Roots" miniseries.

I think you are as old fashioned as I am to know a show like the Phil Silvers show. Second, I think there has been discussion about bringing it out to DVD sometime soon. It's a pretty good show too.

Only in a volume set which means a lot of episodes are missing just like with other great shows such as MR. ED and THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES. They only put out SOME of those great shows, but of course they put some of this other crap on DVD right away. *Sigh*

I'd love to see more of the classic shows over some of the tripe they've got now, i.e. more seasons of "Barney Miller" or one of the SJC shows over DVDs of shows that have been on in the past year or so. That doesn't make any sense. (Yes, I include Doctor Who, because I think they've taken out two or three releases of the older shows in place of the collections. I'd like to see some of the classic ones but they're not out yet and cost $75 or so for the videos.)

Some people don't like theater - or Katt in theater. But, I'd much rather see more DVDs of classic shows over say "The Man Show" or "Sopranos." Personally, I think we need to see more shows such as the classics to show that TV can still be funny and good without the overuse of sex, violence, drugs and language. Sad to say: "Pippin" is considered risque - and admittedly when Fosse directed it - but compared to some stuff today, it's rather tame.
