Hey all, I'm so happy, I'm like dancing on the ceiling...la la la... ;D Wow, I just received my GAH DVD today and i'm in heaven! And I remember when it first aired, I was in awe. hee hee...I was in love with William Katt too. He was a hero, he could fly, and I loved the blonde curly hair. Sigh, I have not seen this show since 1986. I've thought about it for years and never saw reruns since. Years ago, I heard that FX played GAH, but didn't have the channel. So finally my dreams came true and I can now watch this marvelous show again....over and over.... I'll have to watch it tomorrow. *sniff* haven't had a chance yet to watch it today...

Thank ya! ;D Ahhh, I watched the Pilot episode just now. hee hee...I felt like I was 6 years old again. And I realized that the last time I saw it, was when it had first aired in 1981. Wow, has it been that long... The DVD is great. I love the music and cried at the Main Menu. Alas, there's no other DVD with a more wonderful Menu. What makes me feel really great is knowing that there are other fans of 'The Greatest American Hero'. *sniff* I didn't know that there's so many out there that actually loves this show as much as me. wow Back when I watched this show, everyone thought I was weird for liking it. I dunno. I have unusual taste, I s'pose. And yes, that's my kitty wearing a red cape. He's the Greatest American Kitty! What makes him really cool is that he was born in the 80s. Woo Hoo!! Hurray for the 80s!!!

I mean, I feel like I'm back living in my parents' house, surrounded by stacks of comic books and video tapes, never taking the time to even make my bed or pick up my dirty clothes; and every free minute is spent watching TV with my childhood buddies. It feels that real to me.

^No, no...it actually makes sense that GAH has a decent amount of female fans. I'm not sure if I can explain exactly why, but it does make sense. Just looking at the show, it comes across as pretty female friendly. It's an intelligent show, and the witty humour in the show would attract many girls/women. Plus Katt was a good enough looking guy back in the days, (probably a good looking, nice regular guy that women wouldn't mind) then there's the whole Ralph-Pam relationship. The Ralph-Pam relationship could have been so much more then what it was, but at least it was there. The Maxwell character is generally poked fun at for his sexist views too. I have always suspected that GAH had a good female following. Joey Scarbury's theme song helps out greatly too, that's just a great wondorous soft rock type tune from the early 80s that you know chicks love.
The series had two female writers too, in Juanita Bartlett and Babs Greyghosky. You can tell what episodes they wrote, because the Ralph-Pam relationship is emphasized more then usual and their episodes just over all feel more womanly or feminine.
Then there's the idea of giving the suit to a woman in GAHeroine. GAH isn't totally a guy show, it actually is a female friendly series.

I'm trying to think of what could possibly be cooler than a good looking guy with blonde, curly hair flying around in a red suit and cape. *drools* hee hee... Not to mention how many times that I pretended a bed sheet a cape and went diving off the top bunk... didn't break a bone, but couldn't fly either...ahh, good times. Gotta love it.

On a more serious note, it has been great to find this board and discover that I am not the only one who enjoys this classic show. For years, I used to think I was one of the few who remembered this great program. I'm so glad to find out that isn't the case ---- and that, believe it or not, we're still walkin' on air.

Ya know something...I am walking on air... ;D I just finished watching the 1st DVD of the set. Ahhh, I'm in heaven what a great show!! I love it more than ever, so whenever I get a chance to watch TV I just watch GAH now. woo hoo!

Hi everyone! I am new to this site. And I am glad to have found a place where others share my love for GAH. I was 10 years old when the show came out and I loved it immediately. I just got the Season 1 DVD set and watched the first disk yesterday. The show is even better than I remember it. I can't wait to watch more!
I was 10 years old when the show came out and I loved it immediately.

Hey RalphsJammies, welcome! The show was magic, I couldn't wait to see the following episode. Now that I am watching it again I rediscover a part of my childhood I thought was long time gone. I will leave a few months before re-watching the episodes again, just because of that feeling it gives to re-watch and re-discover what I could have forgotten. But still the magic spark is there every time.

This is the greatest place ever. Back when FX was showing GAH, I was a freshman in high school. In art class, we had an assignment to make a kite, but we had to advertise something on it. So it took a few minutes for the idea to hit me ( I was slow back then ;D) but then the light bulb went off. I used red paper, and did a picture of the car in the desert with the spaceship, and the symbol by the words "THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO". I swear I'm not lying when I tell you, the day we flew our kites, mine was the highest, longest-flying kite out there, and I got an A+. I still have the kite, although it's torn up and wrinkled, but I'm planning a new kite. I'll see if I can't get a picture of the first one up here for you guys.
