OK, the title might sound odd, but I found this story on MSN.com, titled: "'I, Spy' actor sues zoo over elephant exhibit:" tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=281547>1=7703Doesn't mention GAH though, but pretty interesting article. Don't know much more about the case here to comment though.

Yes, this is another example of Culp's progressive social attitudes, beginning with forcing the network to make Alexander Scott an equal to Kelly Robinson, continuing with his documentary "Operation Breadbasket" after "Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice", continuing with being a regular, active member of animal rights charities and now his suing the LA Zoo for their improper care of their elephants.
You go, Bob!

There is a fuller story about this in the comments thread of that site: boards.msn.com/TVboards/thread.aspx?threadid=440575&boardsparam=Page%3D5First post in the page. I will warn die-hard Culp fans who read all the comments ... you might not want to read all the comments made there. Some would be called Culp-bashing... in any, way shape and form. (As a disclaimer here, I go by the same name and have not commented on the story). From reading the stories from a reporter's POV, I can also tell from both stories that there is missing and/or possibly slanted information in both, and need to have more research and comments that are not slanted. One reason I feel there might be slanted info, the elephant news story does not specify who did the investigation on the elephant's death, and both have different numbers on the expansion's amount. That has to be given in a specific amount when it's passed. This is why I agree with the one comment about AP being too jumpy to put it in its hopper. There will probably be about 22 revisions before the night's out. This case, it's the story itself, not Culp's involvement.

I think it is a good thing when celebrities use their status for something good and not for something stupid. Culp was not the first nor the last and I hope more celebrities continue the trend.

I agree that it is nice when celebs do something for the community/planet/cause of their choice. Although some of the choices of charities I may not personally agree with, I do appreciate when people give of themselves to make the world better.
I know that a lot of us here on these forums are active, too, in their personal lives with charities, churches, community groups, etc. And that's what is so nice about this group of yahoos... you nutty bleeding hearts, you...
Mr. Noir spends a bunch of time dressing up in Star Wars costumes, raising money for ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease). I personally like that Culp is interested in helping animal groups, since that's where I tend to volunteer my time; I've been involved with a rescue group myself for a while (at one point, I was even a state coordinator ).
So, once again, I encourage everyone to Be Ralph For A Day
Yes, Robert Culp is being a Ralph.

Hey, we can also "Be Bill For A Day." He helped out doing good things, too! Plus, then we'd get to wave guns around WHILE we were saving wild horses! A double dose of fun!

Anti-communist and being forced to do good things most of the time by your Ralph counterpart? Where are the dog biscuits?

It's a good article, and something to keep tabs on. The only thing that gets me is the throwaway line as far as Culp being in "I, Spy" at the end. It has nothing to do with the story at all where it is, and if that needed to be mentioned, they should've recognized Culp being in the show higher up to explain who he was. This will be interesting to see how it turns out. Zoos are bad as far as the size of pens at times. I've seen one, Storybook Zoo in Amarillo, that had to be redesigned to give the animals more space. Totally understood, as the bison pen in one case was too small given how fast they can run. They closed the zoo temporarily, but it worked out for the best and the animals are happier for it.
