ok Chris is the guy next to WK. I don't kow who guy # 1 is. It might be JM Ringuet. But you have to read the interview with Chris It is hystarical! www.fanboyplanet.com/interviews/tw-chrisfolino.php This was my favorite part! "And if people bought it, too, so Bill could make his money back, that would be awesome. I just don't want to keep shaving his back for him the rest of my life. FYI, Bill has the Greatest American Hero emblem made out his own chest hair." ROTFLMAO!!! But WK is hairless! At least, I certainly haven't seen any in everything I've seen him in so far. Feel the love. dolfyn. ;D From the sound of things - it's a joke. At most, it'd be something like what you'd see in the Onion, a fake newspaper. Probably the only "Onion" story I've read that's "GAH" related was that Katt supposedly TiVo'd anything that he has appeared in. I will give them some kudos - they do at least know how to write in the newsstory format.

Even if not, I can believe Katt is so hairy that he needs to be shaved.

Don't worry - won't go on about it all the time. Besides, have a couple of other things to work on - work and otherwise.

Hmm... found this review of "Sparks," and while I understand it's a review, apparently they don't understand some things about the comic book (such as why it's in this style ): (also to cover my hide - there is the chance something's not safe for work.)

First they bash then they say well, it's ok? do they know it's a noir? Based on their "It's too dark" comments on the coloring and such, I'd say no. That's why I commented there about the review - it doesn't sound like they did their homework. I liked the other review that's been done for that reason.

I guess I thought it was a very honest review of the series, especially for a new comic book which has to hold and impress readers...and definitely those outside of the Katt fan base. They said the coloring and stuff was dark. I never heard them say anything bad about the story really. They agreed that it was not on the level of DC or Marvel comics with the ability to draw and color...and I agree. They seemed to know it was noir and they seemed to be intrigued by the idea of doing it as more of a flashback, which makes sense for the genre. I think it is likely that they are impressed that someone did it this way, but are confused about other aspects, such as why isn't the drawing and such better? I agree that the colorist has potential too. Hopefully the drawing in some regards will improve. For three bucks, they say it is a go-to kind of comic book. I see nothing wrong with that review.

My only problem is they seem to bash bad then they say ok it's not a bad buy. See when I watch it I get the impression that they are expecting Marvel or DC. But because it's different (noir) they just don't get it. I mean there is something that bothers me about their review enough not to trust their judgments. Now this I can trust...

My reasoning is similar to Marci's in that it seemed like they yo-yo'd a bit and seem to think they need to compare it to larger and more historied comics than on its own merits. But, it looks noir and they go "Is this supposed to be noir?" so I went. That said, my personal opinion on the comic itself is yet to be determined because I haven't read it yet. When I do get to read it, I'll let you know.

I don't see the problem with comparisons. We compare HEROINE to GAH all of the time. There are good parts and bad and we realize that and backpedal at times. From what I have seen, the comic is only okay.

I don't mind comparisons, but in this case it's comparing one story in a rookie company to a storied comic franchise. Kinda like comparing oranges and crabapples.

Still, the comparison is valid. If they want to compete on a major level, they need to produce like a major level. Overall, they didn't.
