Gen Xers are generally defined as people born from 1965 to 1981. Roughly. I've seen different years for that. I do know that if you were born in the 70s you are definately a Generation Xer. The other option is to be as old as a Baby Boomer or as bubble gum young as Generation Y---the current under mid 20s crowd.
So people from about ages 24 or 25 to 40 are Gen X. This demographic is likely the main age range of GAH fans buying the DVDs. Perfect age range for a typical GAH fan that was either a teenager or small child during GAH's initial run.

You have to keep in mind. FX, Family Channel, KDOC, and others have been airing this show off and on for the past 10 years. While FX ran in from 1994 to roughly 1997, many cities did not have the channel on it's cable system, I was lucky and did. The Family Channel only aired the pilot, and of course you had to be local to actually watch KDOC-TV. The series has not had big exposure here in the states since it's original syndication run in the 80's. Many cities across the U.S. ran it in the 80's. Plus Superstation WGN out of Chicago ran it, allowing people across the country to see it again on a national level. Of course recently, lucky Canadians were able to watch the series on Showcase Action. With this website I've found many, many people who have not seen the series since the 80's. Some never even had a chance to see it in syndication, their memories are from the network run.

NOT SEEN GAH SINCE THE 80's!?!?!?! First world hunger, then WMD's now this. THE HUMANITY!!!! Thank goodness for DVD ;D . I geuss I have been lucky to get so much exposure to it. I know there was a dry spell of 10 years for me. Then all the sudden I seemed to keep seeing it.

I was lucky too, I had it recorded from ABC. Then a local station picked it up in the 1st syndication run, and I had WGN too. Plus later I watched it on FX. Some people haven't been as lucky.

my first post, just found the site!
I had to get mine at Best Buy. In my area, all Wal-Marts, Cirucuit City's, and Target's, did NOT have the dvd! Not even a space on the rack for it, or any "coming soon" signs. Usually all the stores listed get things in my area ON the release date.
Perhaps Anchor Bay has trouble meeting the demand?

I live in Northern California. It was not easy to find. When I called Fry's Electronics, and asked, the guy there said, "Huh?" Obviously a bubble-gummer. Anyway, supposedly he typed it in his computer and nothing came up, so he said they didn't have it. I went in anyway, and there it was. Idiot. There were only four copies there. It was $19.99, which is a little more than you guys paid, but with gas prices the way they are, I'd have spent more chasing down a cheaper copy, since the morons who answer the phones can't seem to give a correct answer.
I don't think our Target has it yet, but I haven't checked in several days. The lines at my Best Buy are just too long and discouraging, no matter when you go there. Not worth the two bucks to stand in line for that long.

Only 2 copies left at my local Wal-mart early yesterday morning. It seems from the different reports that have been coming, the set is a steady seller so far.

I am glad it is doing so well with so little retail support. Still none at my Target.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon & got it on the 14th. But I received the set from Netflix on the 10th. ;D
I dont think it's as much as Anchor Bay cannot meet the demand, it is a matter of not knowing how well a 20 year old show will sell today.
Now if I could just get someone to bring me Automan & the Amazing Spiderman on dvd, I could become that couch potato that I always wanted to be. ;D
