Old-fashioned ending credits! You know the kind: slow, full frame, the kind you could actually read. Not all smushed up in a tiny window and scrolling at the speed of light, like they all do today. And set to Mike post's kick-ass instrumental version of the theme song (especially the longer version heard at the end of episodes such as "Who's Woo in America", "Captain Bellybuster and the Speed Factory", "The Good Samaritan" (I think)).

Oh yeah, the old school ending credits; they've gradually changed so much over the years we have so few occasions to appreciate how simple they were even if not so complete in detail as we have them today, though. I agree on the instrumental version of the song: that's really good, man! I remember how I couldn't just get it off my head when I was a kid.

JMan,
Did they keep the shortened remixed version of the theme used for the first four episodes on the set? I don't know why, but I'm really curious about this. Thanks.

Lemme put it this way, and hope it answers your question. I just pulled out my video tapes of "Hog Wild" and "Captain Bellybuster and the Speed Factory", which were recorded during the network's Summer reruns in September 1982. In both cases, the opening credits clock in at exactly one minute and twenty seconds (1:20).
Then I timed the opening credits on my brand-new DVD versions of the very same two episodes. They both clocked in at one minute and forty-three seconds (1:43).

You know in a way I wish they kept those shortened themes from those few 2nd season episodes, instead of fixing it with what would have been the correct longer theme. Maybey I'm trying to be a bit of a purist, but that was the way the shows were originally aired, so why not keep it like that on the DVD.
Its like the Hinkley/Hanley thing. "Ralph Hanley" is a part of the shows legacy, so don't ever change those couple of 1st season episodes that do have Ralph as "Hanley" instead of the correct "Hinkley".
Remember one of the 2nd season episodes had the theme end as "How could it be?" instead of "Who could it be?"
Did they change that?

I agree with the purist view; I'd rather have the episodes 100% exactly as they originally aired, from start to finish.
