I was driving home last night from work and flipped to our oldies channel here in NY. So what starts playing -
#28 in 1965 - "The Eve of Destruction" by Barry McGuire
ARGRHHH !
In all honesty, I like Scarbury's version better, a little faster tempo then the original.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one. I've always preferred Joey's vocal to the McGuire one.

I agree. I don't like the original 60s version of "Eve of Destruction" at all. I like Joey Scarbury's early 80s version far, far better. It's one case where the cover far surpasses the original tune.
