Just no acounting question?

Okay on the gaheroine when they show the clips with the song heros are human they show a clip of ralph running with a briefcase. he stops opens it up and money falls into it.Now i asume this is from just no acounting but on my copy from showcase action that scene isnt there did they cut it out.It has the scene where ralph rakes the money up and runs into the house why would they cut ot such a small few second clip

Unless I'm off-base, I believe that's a cut scene from that episode, but completely cut - as it's not even on my Japanese DVD.

The clip you refer to never appeared anywhere before GAHeroine. Apparently filmed at the same time as the raking-the-money-into-the-briefcase scene in TJNA, probably as a joke.

I don't think it was a joke. More than likely an alternate take of the same scene, that for whatever reason was not used. More footage is shot than we ever see make air.

yeah, it's true! That briefcase moment was definitely part of unused footage, probably they thought it was nice and decided to recycle it.

This reminds me of the episode when Ralph threw Pam and 2 others off the N1TC to collect them before they could squash on the ground. He was there ready to catch them in sequence, about the same way he did with the money.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but I find the GAHeroine clip pretty implausible as a serious alternate take. If you haven't watched both scenes recently, pull out your old second season video tapes (won't be saying that much longer). The original scene magicjammies refers to is early in TJNA, when Ralph crashes in his back yard while Scarbury sings "Taxman" (come to think of it, hold on to those second season tapes). Compare it with the version in the GAHeroine flashback montage, when Scarbury sings "Heroes are Human".

Four come to mind right away. In the teaser for Now You See It, we see Ralph flying wildly, diving to save the single engine plane. The shot in the finished episode shows him diving, flying straight as an arrow towards the doomed aircraft.

In the teaser for Lilac's Mr. Maxwell, we see a shot of Ralph crashing onto the roof of a dog house: "I'm sorry puppy, is that your house?" That does not appear in the final print.

Another, is in the teaser for Live At Eleven. It opens with a shot of Ralph flying past what I'm assuming is supposed to be the nuclear power plant. That shot does not appear in the final cut of the episode.

Finally....in the teaser for Thirty Seconds Over Little Toyko, we see Ralph Race into his living room: "Okay Bill which way did they go!" Unknown to him that Bill is bringing Dotty Webber into the house after her encounter with the Ninja's. "Who are you supposed to be?" she asks. That scene did not make the final print.

oh...and a fifth comes to mind. In the teaser for the pilot movie (both broadcasts) the last shot is a close up of Katt flying with the one light, shot on a darkened stage. That shot did not make the final cut of the pilot. Not to mention the little kids dialogue about Superman, right before Ralph takes to the air in the alley. That was also cut from the final print. But it aired in some early promos.

I hate to pop in here and counter things - But, that scene WAS aired in There's Just No Accounting" -- it could have been from the first airing or second - But I know it was part of the episode at some point. Ralph rakes up part of the money, walks toward the house - opens the case and another chunk of cash falls from the sky.

I have the original broadcast, and the repeat that I originally recorded myself when ABC broadcast both. It never aired. Unless the West Coast aired a different print. Do you have it recorded?

I make no promises - but Ihad it on tape. When I first started working on GAH at Disney, they provided me with a stack of uncut episodes - these shows were from Cannell masters, they even had the opening sequence and end montage seperated - opening done after the show - minus the credit overlays and the end minus music and credits. It was on this tape that the Ralph catches money scene was on -- I think... I'm going to have to look for the copy as soon as I tie up a couple of other things that are priority.

See, that's the thing. I am probably the biggest GAH fan you will ever meet and when I sat back and watched that episode - it didn't ring new to me, and I know I had seen that footage before Heroine ever spliced it in. Logically, why would the editors use footage from the cutting room floor for Heroine anyway? Those scraps of edited, deleated or alternate scenes are difficult to come by. I am leaning in the direction that this footage aired.

Unrelated "Just No Accounting" Question. I have always tried to keep track of how many cars Bill trashed in GAH. However, in "There's Just No Accounting" I counted THREE in this episode ALONE.

1. When they blew out the window of the car and Ralph's paper's went flying.

2. When Bill runs the kidnappers nearly off the peer (notice that it was actually an entirely different car and when Bill finally drives up to make the arrest, the car is unscratched after being smashed pretty good in the previous scene).

3. When Ralph rips the door off and is surprised to find that Carlilse still asks about the cars.

Am I correct on this? What is the total car count for this episode and the series? I have counted 9 so far (plus another referenced in 1st season which was apparently never shown).

OK this is actually one of my favorite episodes, it starts out strong and never lets up til the end, it's incredible, lol. The humor, the character interaction, the social commentary, it's just all there and perfect!

...Plus there's, you know, that part when Ralph comes out of the shower...not that that's important or anything but...yeah. ;D

Anyway, one question....why didn't Ralph just put the briefcase in his bedroom?

Herald, Ralph didn't put the briefcase into his room for two reasons - 1. He was in a rush and worried about dealing with the BB Gun (tax auditor) and just forgot), and 2. If he had stayed cool, calm and collected he wouldn't have been able to save BB's life later on in the episode.

That tax auditor was a real son of a........gun, wasn't he? I enjoyed when Ralph finally had enough of this guy and basically told him where to go. ;D Talk about a low-life on a power trip, eh?
