That wasn't a choice either...someone needs to go back and rework this poll to include stuff like that.

Operation Spoilsport definitely suffers the most. While the new song is pretty good by itself, It's not good as a replacement for Eve of Destruction. Eve is part of what makes it such a Fantastic episode. In fact, that's one of the reasons I was so looking forward to the release of Season Two on DVD, before I found out about the music changes. Fortunately, I was able to get the Original version of "Spoilsport" on DVD from a guy I know.

I have to say again that the new song does the episode more justice since EVE OF DESTRUCTION is a Vietnam-based song. Watching them side by side, I think SPOILSPORT is better on the DVD than on my VHS.

Do you or anyone else know the name of the song that replaced Eve of Destruction?

I don't off the top of my head, sorry. I know you can hear it on the DVD, but I can't recall the name, sorry.

Would you believe I just now discovered this thread? As everyone by now knows, O:SS was the one most severely damaged by removing EoD. I mean, that song MAKES this episode! I remember watching it first-run, and my heart was racing as Bill was accessing the computer, knowing his version of The Man was going to nail him... and the black ops helicopter coming in... and Ralph being too late to save Bill. Oddly enough, I'd never heard the original EoD by Barry McGuire, even though I'm a child of the 60s. I looked high and low for that song till I finally got it. All I can say is I'm glad I've got the ORIGINAL O:SS on my computer, EoD intact. I love the line "Take a look around you, boy!" and Bill looks behind him, convinced that they're right behind him. An icon I made of that shot: "That's Operation: Spoilsport. Nifty, huh?" And everyone's favorite... "This stinks! I hate this!"

I voted for the pilot because that's the only episode I remember more with the Songs "Rocket Man", "Space Oddicy" & "Help Me Rhonda" in them (Thankfully I Taped the Pilot Ep when it aired on ABC Family back in 200 or 2002 whichever) Whenever i watch the Pilot on DVD with the altered songs I Know which New Song Replaced the Original song.
as for the others I Only Guess/Wonder What song was Originaly in that ep Except for The Pinball scene in "Wizzard & Warlocks" I Figured They'd Have "Pinball Wizard" By the Who In that ep.

Yeah, I can certainly understand people picking Classical Gas because actual FOOTAGE was cut, but if I had to choose ONE, it's still O:SS - taking out 'Eve Of Destruction' is just unforgivable.

Listening to it now, I have to say while "Eve of Destruction" should've stayed, they did at least chose a song that was similar in tone to the theme of the episode. The "You Saved the Day," however, I don't think they listened to the lyrics. Makes the GGs seem a little too infatuated with our heroes.
