Ralph must be teaching night school at the local community college now, because all his students seem to be in their mid-to-late-thirties, just like me

LOL - yeah totally. And suddenly they're generic and boring... what a difference a season makes...

I totally agree. With the exception of Cyler and Rodriguez, the class seems to be a stereotypical group of rowdy students. Even the class of students in the pilot were more realistic, whether fighting or being scared of the bus moving without help.
What bugged me about this class the most is that I felt that I was supposed to believe this was the same class in the other seasons since Cyler and Rodriguez were there. Though I enjoy both Don Cervantes' and Jessie Goins' performances (both of whom I felt kept the spirit of the original class alive), it would have been more plausible to have completely changed the entire class of students. That way, the viewer could assume this was a new school year. Or, they could have given the new students characteristics that weren't ripoffs of Tony and Rhonda.

It was the Coy and Vance syndrome from The Dukes of Hazzard. Getting new characters that look very similar to the old ones, and even start acting just like the old ones....instead of simply being "new" and different characters with personalities of their own.

No bonus features, either. I was hoping for the music video for "Believe It Or Not". Yes, there was a video produced for that song.

I was secretly hoping for a Culp commentary for Vanity. His ISPY commentaries are first rate.

The next thing I'm getting after the GAH DVDs, once I'm working, is The Robert Culp Collection. So far, I've seen two sets, one's "The War Lord", written by Culp. The cover blurb says "Exciting episodes written by and featuring commentaries by Robert Culp." Here's the link, if you want to read the rave reviews: www.movie-pages.com/movie/i-spy-the-war-lord/B00005QBZP/All three reviews give it 5/5. "The many faces and talents of Robert Culp." "sexy spys (sic) and sleazy villains." "The Culp Collection, a must have!" (Forgive me if y'all have discussed this already; I just noticed this DVD came out in 2002.)

Do you own "I Spy Revisted". Is it worth owning?

What happened to Pare in season 3? Was he working on Eddie and the Cruisers or what? The third season just didn't seem the same w/ out him and Rhonda. And, you guys are right...they looked like 30 yr old GED students instead of high school kids.

Why didn't Faye Grant appear? I'm not sure of the timing here but was it because of "V"?
I recall watching "V", having GAH still in my mind and seeing Grant playing someone completley different from Rhonda. It took a while to get over the GAH thing.
Though between GAH and "V" she never seemed to have much luck with series.

Yes, it was because she was into "V" at that point, unfortunately.

An observation not only about the third season, but about the entire series is that Cyler got screwed. Paco was sometimes put in the opening credits with Pare and Grant, but never Jesse D. Goins...who really did the best acting overall. Even in Season 3, when it is just him and Paco, he never gets mentioned...you think he would have gotten at least ONE episode to call his own. I think having Faye, Paco, Carlisle, Cyler, and some of the repeat guest stars do interviews would have been neat too.

Since they did other aspects of Cannell, they should have done aspects of other people, such as having Billy Katt perform. Great little side show for the series.
