I'm a new poster to this board and have read the threads about the edited GAH DVDs released in the U.S. and the unedited DVDs released in Japan that are not region 1.What I wanted to know is if anyone had bought or even knew about the GAH DVDs on www.dvdavenue.tv .They sell the complete series on 9 DVDs,brand new in a 2 box set and in region 0 so it will play on any player worldwide. They also offer many other old TV shows, mostly in complete series sets, some of which haven't officially been released on DVD as far as I knew. For example, they have the complete Dukes Of Hazzard series plus 2 reunion movies, when only 5 of 7 seasons have come out to my knowledge. So I don't know about if these are official releases or not. What I was curious about is if these are the unedited shows without the original music or not,and what the quality was of these sets.Anyone know?Let me know!

I have seen this before but I am always skeptical. If they are not listed to come out at all elsewhere, I wonder why this site can sell them. I have been looking for the ADDAMS FAMILY TV show for years to no luck and it is on this site...as I imagine the TV show CUPID is too if I look hard enough. My mind says it is probably a swindle.

WOW. WTF is that? The SUPER MEGA BOOTLEG site?!? First one I've seen like that. The complete Columbo series on DVD for $179.00?! That spans quite a number of years...
I wonder how in the hell they get away with that site. I've seen GAH bootlegs get kicked off eBay in a matter of hours, yet this site can be up and running full steam (or at least seem so). Interesting.

It has been up for some time too...that is why I was curious about the nature of it too...especially with a money-back guarantee.

That's what I mean,it doesn't seem like it could be legit but it looks as legit as anything I've ever seen.If you do a search online for many TV shows it comes right up,and if it isn't official it certainly isn't very well hidden and you'd think would've been shut down by now.If I had the money I might take one for the team just to see how the product is.I am curious and it has a money back guarantee.Frankly,if it is the unaltered shows with the original music it would be well worth it in my book.

With that in mind, I'll post (once again - lol) that anyone interested in obtaining the Japanese GAH DVD release (with English audio track and original music) can contact me via email and I will gladly try to assist. They are 100% what true fans were hoping to get from the USA release to begin with. kolchak@ameritech.net

By the way,www.dvdavenue.tv also has the complete I Spy series on DVD,all 4 seasons.I don't know much about the show and have no idea if its officially been released elsewhere. So if this site is legit it would certainly be a boon for Robert Culp fans.

Well at least now we'll know if the site has a quality product etc.Good luck with that Lauren, and do keep everyone posted.Even though I have the first 2 seasons of the official U.S. release I almost ordered the GAH DVDs from dvdavenue, but decided I just can't spend the money right now. There are so many shows on that site that I love and are hard to find that it would be a goldmine if their product is worth it (the one obstacle being,of course, the money or lack thereof of the customer). It be interesting to see the quality of the one you are getting, and you have a money back guarantee if it isn't good (at least we hope so).

Thanks Lauren and I hope their shipping is as quick as they say it is.By the way,and for all posters,I've finally set up my profile the way I wanted it,now that I had more leisure time (what's that?).If anyone was wondering what the heck the name "Curless" was,it is the last name of an old Country singer from up here who's singing I really admire.

Ah, yes, I did get them. Now, this doesn't really bother me, but the shows were taped from tv, some may be syndie edits, some may be the original airing, since that's how the PS episodes ending up being. Still, the quality--though occasionally looking to be less than first generation video tape--is still better than some of my 4th/5th generation vhs tapes that I'd accumulated in hopes of getting the whole series. So it all depends on how picky you may be about the dvds... but these SHOULD have the original music intact. ETA: I posted elsewhere about the set & forgot to come back here with it. Ehh, just kick me in the keister & I'll remember eventually. Also, with the order, I received a 25% off my next order card. So, yes, I will be making another purchase from there at some point. Just need to decide what show I want...
