Its obvious that if GAH is to be made into a theatrical release, whether through Disney or not, that "moviestar" names will have to be attached to it.
If, however, such should fall through, a 2-hour TV movie could still be in the offing and THAT is where the original cast would have the inside track. I hate to use "Back To The Batcave" as an example, but tis the only one that comes to mind! ;D

If that's the only way to get the original cast to reprise their roles, then I'm all for a TV movie. I see no reason why this can't happen. For some reason or another, Ralph had to don the suit again...so what if he's older? Maxwell would look like a seasoned FBI agent, and Pam...well Connie is still gorgeous, so we're all set there. I like Culp's idea of recruiting Tony into the FBI. I really think it could work.

I agree.
Also, I think they should just ignore the whole "Heroine" fiasco as if it never happened. Would anyone really mind that? Not me.

I wouldn't mind. Since it never aired on network TV, I don't think it's considered GAH canon.

I also liked Culp's idea of having Villecona go into the FBI, but without him knowing and having to partner with him would be a great way to keep the comic feel of the original show we all love so much.

That's a terrific idea! But would Tony ever find out about Ralph's past with the suit? How would Ralph explain everything to him? Would Tony feel betrayed? And what Heroine? I don't see any heroine. A skirt in the suit? RIDICULOUS!!!

I agree. TGAH is a guy. Sorry, but if they want a female superhero, make up a new one. Don't ruin one that is established.
I don't see why Tony would feel betrayed. I think he would realize that as a teenager, he had not been ready to handle that information. He could look back at his attitude, and understand perfectly. It would be a cute part of the whole thing, especially when he meets Ralph's latest group of students. He could laugh to himself, and see himself in the latest "tough guy".

If there was a TV movie with the original cast, I also like the idea of having Villacona as an FBI agent as Maxwell's "student". That would add an extra comical line as Maxwell teaches Villacona everything he knows about the FBI. Also I don't think that Villacona would be upset to learn about Ralph's secret because with him being older, he would know that sometimes secrets need to be kept. Also what about having Bill Maxwell as the head of the FBI? I think it would be high time for him to get some reward for all his hard work. Ralph could be the Principal at the school and Pam would have her own law firm. Also I believe that if there was to be a theatrical movie on the TV Series, I would like to see them do it with thier children instead of trying to bring back the same characters as they always do when they bring TV series to movies. A lot of times it just doesn't work out all that well when you try to do the same characters with different actors. At least with thier children Ralph, Pam and Bill could still make guest starring appearances. The one thing that I hope they don't do with a theatrical movie of this TV show is use a black cast in the roles of Ralph, Pam and Bill and all the students like the trend seems to be going with the latest releases in theaters. Just check out the trailer for the Honeymooners movie coming out this year. You can find it at www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/the_honeymooners/

The only other example I can think of is the casting of Wil Smith as Jim West, which didn't really work for me. Nothing against Smith, I just think a LITTLE historical accuracy would have been nice.

Well, The Nutty Professor was another one, and personally, I preferred the Jerry Lewis version, but maybe that is too old for anyone to care.

An effective movie would be one that would adapt tired old 80s tv show pilots...
I also like the idea of Vilacona having gone in the Bureau and having been trained by Bill... however, it's been a long time and I think that by now Bill would be retired.
I'd liek to see Tony as a dinosaur like Bill- someone who hasn't risen well in the ranks because he uses the old methods Maxwell taught him, and that Ralph and the retired Bill have honed there skills so that Bill doesn't even have to be in the FBI anymore- he just works the background, casting "scenarios" from home base.
How about Ralph throwing out his back, playing with his kid(s) (by Pam) and so he and Bill decide it's time to pass on the suit. Tony is let in on the secret and the green guys return to pick a new partner for Tony.
To really give it that cheesy 1980s feel though, any movie should have one MAJOR element to the story:
A Whitney High Class Reunion.
And to 80s it up even more, what if Bill were captured buy some collar he had put away pre-Ralph, and who has finally been paroled? Then Ralph could turn to Tony and the old gang to help him rescue Bill?

With how well the DVDs are selling, I can't believe they're not even 'attempting' a reunion TV movie. A shame.

You have to think if a window of opportunity ever existed for the movie to become a reality this it. DVD sales are tangible proof for the studio to believe in the viability and profitability of resurrecting the franchise.

And and they can put in new, updated cover songs that they could replace when the film is released on DVD.

Me too!
C.Martin - I like your idea about Tony's character.
I can see "semi-retired Bill" and Tony, now veteran FBI man, fishing together, working out Tony's latest "scenarios".

They should have Katt come back for a cameo and be really pissed, spouting off "Hey, I never WANTED THIS OR ENJOYED THIS THE FIRST PLACE!" when asked for advice about The Suit. I'm sure Katt would be able to pull off a role about G.A.H. like that easily! <nudge nudge>

I like the idea of a reunion movie too. I think HEROINE should still play into it though. I am just one of THOSE people. I think that Cyler and Tony should be in the FBI and partners, both assigned under Bill Maxwell. That way the dynamic doesn't have to change and you get the good actors helping support that bad one...hint, hint. Plus, I think it would be funny to not have Cyler and Tony know about the suit unless they did another series of the show. If it is just a reunion movie, why worry about having to explain background? Let them work with Bill and not know why he runs to the bathroom all the time to talk to Ralph on the communicator.

They could always include Heroine without really mentioning *her*, like bringing up the fact that many have worn the suit or one like it... That way, those who know all the details from purchasing the DVDs won't say "How come they never mentioned the woman who got the suit after Ralph?"

True...of course, many people who purchased the DVDs may think that it is supposed to be the first season closer and that she goofed up and they got it back...or maybe no one really cares as long as the reunion movie doesn't suck.
