Look what I found: "In 1997, Tim Burton (Batman) directed a feature film, The Greatest American Hero, starring Gary Oldman as Ralph Hinkley and Malcolm McDowell as Bill Maxwell." This was on eightiesclub.tripod.com/id186.htm . Scroll to the bottom for GAH stuff. Note what they chose for really good episodes.

Yep, it looks like the guy was taking the Internet posters at face value. There are several fake movie posters around the Internet doing "What if so and so" was cast of "GAH." I've seen the one you mentioned, one with Owen Wilson as the lead, and one with Macaulay Culkin as the lead. He's got a couple of other facts mixed up as well, such as the show running for two years (it ran three seasons). And, I wonder why he didn't mention Katt being in "Carrie," which was before "GAH" and he is probably better known for than "Butch and Sundance: The Early Years." As far as the choices, I'd agree with most of his choices, as there is only one story in the series I don't like much ("Space Ranger," though it has its moments). The one I disagree with is saying "GAHeroine" was a highlight. It was by far the weakest of the lot IMO, mostly because it flat out didn't make sense, especially the way they characterized Ralph. Chopping it up to fit one hour also didn't help.

Bad site. I don't recall Ralph having amnesia in the episode PLAGUE. HEROINE was not a top-notch one either. I don't recall that movie, but maybe I am really out of touch.

And if Malcolm McDowell starred in it, he should be pissed that IMDB has no record of it.

Bad site. I don't recall Ralph having amnesia in the episode PLAGUE. You're right, Ralph didn't, though he was in the hospital in quarantine. Ralph loses his memory in "Train of Thought." Must have lost mine "train of thought" the first time I looked at the site though, as I overlooked it.

It's okay...you told us in the caption thread that you were in a rut lately.

I wonder if the 'movie' will ever actually get off the ground. I know Cannell keeps mention that it's still 'in the works' (as he does with the supposed A-Team movie, and THAT'S even listed on IMDB!), but it seems like that's all the news we ever get.

Probably because no one wants to pay for high name actors and they can't find chemistry between the ones they do have to recreate the roles.

Where was this film? I never knew about it. I don't think it was ever made. But I think if you click on the Links section at www.greatestamericanhero.com , there's a listing for this "movie." EDIT: Just double-checked--the listing is still up, but the link to the site is dead.

[glow=blue,2,300]"Gary Oldman as Ralph Hinkley."[/glow] Oh God, shoot me now... Isn't he just a TAD too old to be playing Ralph? (goes through IMDB site) He was born in 1958, but if they're going to have an actor that old play Ralph, they might as well have Katt play the role and have a (proper) handover to a new wearer. I might have been out in the sun a lot lately taking photos and avoiding heatstroke, but even I know this wouldn't work.

I agree. Then again, I didn't like him as Dracula either, so...
