The characters would not be like Ralph Bill and Pam. The story would be diffrent character wize completely diffrent than the show. But with the same concept, and of course without the instruction booklet. What are you're thoughts?

I see where you're coming from, but regardless, I'd definitely watch. Heck, "music videos" are essentially fan films. It takes real talent to piece existing stuff together to tell a story. Sadly, I don't have the means to make one myself, although I've got lots of ideas.
But an original fan film, not using spliced together scenes, would rule too.

It's funny I often do video projects with the kids i sit for and our next one (as soon as the weather gets warm) we were going to do a GAH video project. Ari 6 is going to be Ralph Elias11 Bill And Miranda 8 Pam. I'm still working out the main plot. Either the originals get thrown into a time vortex or some random kids find the suit. I think the first. Elias likes to play Bill and Ari wants Ralph. He also has the costume so.. But I am a wiz with video. kinda the same with photoshop.

I don't know either way at the moment. I like it not being the original characters, but I am not sure if I would like something along the same lines...good poll though...hard to choose.

Thanks. I just wanted to know what the fans other than myself thought. Its been talked about with a few friends of mine. We have the means to do a fan film the problem is time, thats the one thing we can't ever seem to get any of. I think you all would like the idea for the main charactor that i've got.
I got this idea from the episode where ralph found out that there was some one else who once had a suit. The name of that ep escapes me at the momment. One of my faves though. Anyway My thought was if there was so much trouble in the world then wouldnt the green guys have more than one suit?
I've got a lot of idea's but I'm gonna wait and see if i can get any of them on film.

It was called "Don't Mess Around With Jim" and I have thought along the same lines. However, I don't have the ability to make super cheesy effects look cool...ala Lauren if you have seen her Halloween pictures of her flying using a rolling chair.

I think that is the WHOLE point of the board.

Ok next question, what would you like to see in a fan film? What are some of the things that you the fans would like to see?

Ok next question, what would you like to see in a fan film? What are some of the things that you the fans would like to see? I voted "Sure, why not," because it would be interesting, but a good plot would be key. Now, something I'd like to see in a fan film would be something with more of a human aspect like the original or what-if scenarios with the suit. For example, I've always wondered what-if Bill and Ralph switched places or what if something Ralph does outside of normal has an impact on how the suit reacts. And, in the two cases of ideas (though I've written the first as a fanfic), what the human trait/suit does has some sort of impact on how Ralph, Bill and Pam deal with the larger, more dangerous scenario. To me, these are the more interesting aspect of the show rather than the monsters ones, with a few exceptions ("Beast. ..." a good example)

I would like to see a more logical pattern of time...reference the episode DREAMS and try to keep tabs on everything that happens in a timeline formation...impossible.

We should all try to get together. a Have a GAH scavenger hunt. See who can go out in the town and find things that were on the show but not from the show. (ie no ebaying) and the first one who comes back with the most stuff in an hour wins.

Red Jammies...any luck on your fan film? If you have an idea for things like a script and such, I am sure some of the people on the board who do fanfiction and such would beta it for you.

I'm hoping to have something ready to film by May maybe the end of april but if anyone wants to read what I've got (when I've got something better to read) then that would really help out. I'm warning you though my grammer is awfull. ;D

I've actually been thinking about this for a while myself, as I do video work and have a lot of the equipment already available. And I already have a suit! (of course i would have to spring for at least one "stunt" suit, as I wouldn't want to risk tearing up the main suit while crashing!)
I began thinking about it last year after seeing all these "Star Trek" fan films begin to pop up: New Voyages, Starship Exeter, et al.; and seeing how the fan film has become more of a respectable art form recently. Since no new "Trek" is being produced, these are the only source for new live-action adventures for a while and are very popular. In fact, "New Voyages" (featuring a new Kirk and Spock) not only attracted Gene Roddenberry, Jr. to sign on as Executive Consultant, it even managed to sign Walter Koenig to reprise his role as "Chekov" in their upcoming episode!
My take on a fanfilm (or series thereof) would probably take the route that a new official TV series would: two totally new characters get paired up and given the suit without any indication that this has been done before. After all, Ralph and Bill had no knowledge of J.J. Beck, so there's no reason for the new guys to know about Ralph and Bill...at least until the series gets popular enough to warrant some special guest appearances! ;D
I've got some story ideas in mind...now I just need a wire rig and giant greenscreen!

Or you could just jump and fall like a rock from tall buildings and make it an instant classic by dying in your own production.
