I was just watching The 200 MPH FASTBALL. As we know during this episode Ralph becomes a major league pitcher using the suit underneath his uniform, as himself Ralph Hinkley, even his class knows he pitches for a major league team and hits the winning run.
At the end of the episode Cannell does something I really love. Ralph and Bill go to a sports bar where they try to "stump Al", two guys who know everything about sports. Bill is trying to prove how fickle the public memory is. It's a little touch like this that really made certain parts of the series. A lesser series would have simply forgotten about tying up this rather big loose end of how to explain Ralph becoming a major leaguer. Cannell simply postulates, that the memory of the average joe is short and that no one really would remember Ralph Hinkley, who was only on the team for a couple of games anyway.
I dunno, I just like this. The show didn't forget it's own episodes continuity, like a Dukes of Hazzard type show would have. And even during the series, some effort was made to keep a continuity going. They tried to stay in the real world too.

One of my favorite "little things" was Bill's habit of eating those dog biscuits! I always get a giggle out of seeing him munch away on those things like candy. ;D

I love how Maxwell stutters and has trouble speaking when he has something on his mind. Um..well..er..then he laughs and gets serious and has that sad puppy dog look. awww...
