Ah. I'm a Northern California girl. Sounds silly, but I think it's pretty different up here. Not better or worse, just different. your right it is. i had to move out of LA cause my son is getting older and i dont want him dealing with certain problems. he is blonde and was the minority.

someone else told me about something called a Snappy, that lets you capture shots from your TV, and put them on a PC. ......... I think it hooks to the VHS or DVD player somehow. I think you mean the external TV tuner device that lets you watch the telly on your computer or connect your videocamera . Probably running a signal-out cable from the DVD player into the Snappy thingy would play the show on your pc (I am not sure if that works because of the protection that DVDs have). But these things are more expensive than buying a DVD-rom drive. I replaced my cd-rom with a DVD-rom drive (not rewriter) 3 years ago now for the same price I could get the re-writable one but with it a free program came on cd: it's called PowerDVD and lets you take still captions off DVDs or just any video file you play with it.
