Well, I'm testing putting an image in the body of the post. I couldn't resist with this one; I usually just take screencaps to make icons/avatars, but this one was begging to be done! YEA, it worked! If you look closely, you'll see that's Ralph, and this is from "Fire Man" for those who don't know, Season One. Okay, just as long as I've got this open, here's a gorgeous one of Robert Culp I couldn't resist either: You can find more from "Fire Man" including a couple of Pam and Ralph together, and even one of Tony (seeing as it was mainly about him) at my livejournal (see link at my signature.)

I just discovered photobucket today, after seeing the pics you've been posting. I'm not going back to imageshack, that's for sure! It only lets you upload ONE image at a time, if you're not on their premium plan, and that gets arduous if you've got 20 icons to upload! AND photobucket lets you post to blogger, livejournal and other places. I tested it, cuz I thought blogger only allowed image posting via their Picasa and Hello products (all associated with Google), but sure enough, it went just fine. When I did those "Fire Man" icons, I did it all thru PB, uploaded then sent them on, even thru an LJ cut (PB lets you mess with the HTML from there) and it all went over just peachy. PB rules. As long as you didn't mark your album private, all of us should be able to snoop around if you don't mind. Mine's free to view too, at photobucket.com/albums/b237/stanford9/ . I've got 9 pages' worth of the stuff I've done previously at imageshack, but from here on in, it's all going to PB.

Great stuff MrsMaxwell. I need to get off my butt and learn how to do this. It sure looks like fun. I've got plenty of ideas cooking, but I really like Billswoman's idea on making GAH videos with the theme song as background music.

I've got plenty of ideas cooking, but I really like Billswoman's idea on making GAH videos with the theme song as background music. Ooh, I didn't mean to give you that impression, that I meant to the theme song. Heck, we've got that at the beginning of every show. What folks will do, and I'll use Stargate as my example, since they're the ones I know so well, is take a song, any song, and find images to match up to it from the particular show. Eg, one of my very favorites is done to 'Hot Rod Lincoln', the song by Commander Cody and his band, with the images featuring Jack O'Neill. The editor, OneOfAradia, took some awesome scenes (most are live-action now; in the earlier days, editors usually used still images) and put them to the music. Like the line "The guy beside me was white as a ghost" she put in Jack flying an X-302 with Jonas in back; Jack does a 360 and Jonas is turning white, getting sick, lol. Any way, that's just one sample. I've already thought of two songs I'd do for Maxwell and O'Neil, if I had what I needed: "Play Me" by Neil Diamond, but this one, "Don't Cry" by Asia (yeah, I'm old, y'all prolly don't even know Asia), when I heard it, I thought THAT is their song: Don't Cry by Asia Hard times you had before you I knew when I first saw you You girl you've always been mistreated, cheated So leave it all behind you It took so long to find you I know that we can last forever ever and more, more, oh DON'T CRY NOW THAT I'VE FOUND YOU DON'T CRY TAKE A LOOK AROUND YOU DON'T CRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO FIND YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT, BUT LITTLE DARLIN', PLEASE, DON'T CRY I knew I'd never doubt it I was so sure about it Don't think of all that's been before I'll hear you when you're calling I'll catch you when you're falling Don't worry I will always be there Like never before, or, oh, oh! (Chorus for closing) This fits them in so many ways, but what esp. got me was the verse "So leave it all behind you..." and the chorus, when she's crying on Bill, "Don't cry, now that I have found you..." Any way, I think you get the idea. Some songs can be just HYSTERICAL too (like the Stargate Cantina, done to the Star Wars parody of "Copacabana", it's a scream). Others move me to tears within seconds. If you want to view some actual vids, go to Kawoosh!, a great Stargate vid site. You can search by song, artist, character, etc. Think of an artist you like and search on him or her (I searched on "John Denver" and found a vid of my very favorite song by him!) kawoosh.co.uk/These are all Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, but it'll give you an idea what they're like. I've got a Stargate songvid site where I have reviews of well over fifty songs, and links to the editors' pages so you can get them. If you want them, please download the song to your machine; it keeps from chewing up their bandwidth. To download, just rightclick and say "Save target as..." My review and links site is sg1songvids.blogspot.com/Oh yeah, one more song I've gotta do someday, if someone doesn't first: "Zero to Hero" for Ralph, lol!! (Someone did it for the character Daniel Jackson, and it's great!)

LOL, I didn't make the connection until a couple of minutes ago that the quote was from "Back to the Future," and that Marty McFly used the Hazmat suit to turn into an alien and scare his future father into asking Lorainne to the dance. Also, it would be neat to see how "Zero to Hero" would work for Ralph. Remembering the lyrics, it's a funny song as it is.

I'm self taught as far as the pics go. I use MS Paint after I capture, and I would be using Microsoft Picture It! if I were to add text. I'm clueless on adding sound. As Tony would say "I don't know spit about it"... Funny you should mention "Don't Cry"... I always loved Asia. "Don't Cry, "Heat of the Moment", and "Only Time Will Tell" are frequently on my mp3 player. My external hard drive has 7,956 songs on it. With all the fuss about P2P file sharing, I just go to the public library and burn 'em. The selection is phenomonal and you're not gambling with getting a corrupt file. I'm creating my own GAH soundtrack. So far I have: GAH Theme - Joey Scarbury Help Me, Rhonda - The Beach Boys Space Oddity - David Bowie Rocket Man - Elton John Taxman - Stevie Ray Vaughan (my favorite version) Brass In Pocket - The Pretenders Bad Moon Rising - Creedence Clearwater Revival Can't Get Enough - Bad Company You Don't Mess Around With Jim - Jim Croce Eve Of Destruction - Turtles (I couldn't find the original) Some other great artists I'm considering (although not used in the show) are : April Wine, ELO, Blue Oyster Cult, Alan Parson's Project, Eagles, Eric Clapton & Jefferson Sharship. I think D ick Clark was wrong when he said the 80's were one of the worst decades for music! [glow=red,2,300](OMG:...If you type in the word "d ick" the board will read "thingy"..can you believe?[/glow] I thought another great GAH song would be "Why Me?" by Tony Carey's Planet P Project. It came out in '81 or '82 I believe. I've been trying to find the lyrics on the web, but to no avail. Basically It's about an astronaut who realizes at the last minute, on the launch pad, that he realy doesn't want to go through with it. Sittin' up here watchin All the lights blink down below The Earth is turning Why does it go so slow? Thinking 'bout the girl I left behind Houston, can you hear me? Or have I lost my mind Why me?... and the song goes on (I thought it would make a great Ralph/Pam song...He didn't want the suit, but he has it now and has to deal with responsibility). May all your scenarios have happy endings, Mrs. Maxwell [glow=red,2,300]Bill Maxwell makes Steve McGarret look like Barney Fife![/glow]

"I'm self taught as far as the pics go. I use MS Paint after I capture, and I would be using Microsoft Picture It! if I were to add text. I'm clueless on adding sound. As Tony would say "I don't know spit about it"..." I know what you mean. I use Ace WINscreen (you can get for free at www.zdnet.com/ but you can only save them as .bmp's, but then you can save as .jpg in Paint) to take the screencap and add the caption, and mess with the contrast and brightness. Once I'm happy, I save as a .bmp to my "upload" folder (so I can keep track of what's not been posted yet); then, when I've got a good handful of 200x200 .bmp's, I go to Paint, reduce them to 100x100, and save as .jpg. You reduce via Image, then Stretch/Skew (it defaults to 100 and 100; just change to 50 and 50 -- it's the percent you're reducing.) That's a cute pic of Tony, and I know what you mean about the filtering. I tried to put that I thought Ralph was cute as the "d ickens" and it filtered to "thingyens". sigh. "Funny you should mention "Don't Cry"... I always loved Asia." In the early to mid 80's or so, when Asia was HUGE, I lived with a total Asia fan, so I know ALL those songs. I just listened to "Don't Cry" again, after posting that, and I really do like that song. They didn't suck. That soundtrack idea is kickin'. You've got some great ones to add. Now, go to www.livejournal.com/users/permetaform/166861.html and read about "Vidding for Newbies" and start cranking out those GAH songvids, k? You couldn't find "Eve of Destruction" by Barry McGuire? I didn't even know the Turtles had a version of it. I dunno, I prefer the original, even if I first learned the song via Joey. I'd love to make a songvid of EoD once again, maybe not just for Operation: Spoilsport either. OH yeah, I know "Why Me?". In fact, soon as I saw the song title, it started going through my head, thanks a lot. "May all your scenarios have happy endings"... scenarios, maybe, but not my fanfic. "Lilacs III" ain't gonna end happy at all, and "Lilacs IV" is going to be pretty heavy into the Drama/Angst category. LOL I LOVE your caption re: Steve McGarrett. You're right, he's Barney Fife compared to Bill Maxwell. Then I scrolled to the pic of McGarrett and busted up laughing! That's great!! OK, done working my way through your post. I had so many things to say, that I did this in Notepad, so I could get everything I wanted to say in.

There's a particular songvid I wanna do of Bill, and my fellow Bill-lovers are going to LOVE IT, and I've GOT to have that cut in it!
Is it the newlywed one??
Every time I think I've got enough for a base for scene clips, I see more and more from you that I've gotta have!
(Mrs.M, if you wanna know what song, I'll PM it to ya... but don't narc me off!)

Darn, I thought once I got "Lilacs..." and O:SS, I'd call it good till I could get the DVDs, now the list is growing again. I need to get "this is the one..." and "Heaven is in your genes", and I want to get "Vanity...." just cuz Culp wrote and directed it (apparently, that and "Lilacs..." are the only two if this one site can be believed.) Well, stealing at least two pics from MrsM, with her okay of course, I put my VERY favorite pics of our man Bill here on my LJ, if y'all wanna see. I love them all, but these are my especial favorites. www.livejournal.com/users/trek_grrl/20974.html#cutid1Various sizes, some of which are 100x100, good for avatars. Some were just so purty I couldn't reduce them, so left them as-is or even enlarged them.
