Don't think I've ever seen THIS before : EVERY forum on the message boards has a post (if not numerous) as recently as TODAY. KICK A$$, everyone!

Thank you, thank you very much... even if these posts will be the DEATH OF ME with those funny Bill icons and images, that AverageAmericanhero started. Oh, the humanity!

Ok evrybody, I just got a kooky idea. Why don't we have end-of-the-year awards. You know, kinda like the Oscars or Emmys. We can call them the "Jammies". Everyone can nominate someone/something and then we can vote! For example:
Best Screen Name, Avatar, Quote, Screen Cap, Fanfic (short & long), Cartoon/Comic, Longest Thread (started this year), Rookie of the Year, etc. What do you guys think?

LOL, I love it, the Jammies!! Our own GAH awards!
MrsM, weren't you the one who also suggested Maxwell Maniacs and Hinkley Homeys?
I think I brought up Davidson Devotees... but I might be wrong.
My award will be: Most Prolix Posts muwhahahahahaha!!
too bad more GAH fans can't join me in Seattle from January 13-15, 2006, when I host my GAH room party/mini-con! It'd be a neat time to present the awards. Well, if nothing else, I can make a big readerboard of all the winners, and give this site a bit of advertising at the same time (and of course, greenguy's main GAH website).
All I can think of right now is having a lot of red, black and white balloons, and continuous showings of the episodes (in proper order, of course). Now that I have a fine-ass printer, I was thinking of making something to indicate if visitors are Maxwell Maniacs, Hinkley Homeys or Davidson Devotees. The kids don't get anything. Neither does Kevin. Or Carlisle. Maybe Palmer Bradshaw, lol... okay, I'll stop.

I like the awards idea, too! What kinda "trophy" could we give out? It'd have to be presented... by someone in costume...

You got me on that one. We're scattered across the country. Maybe we can do a video conference! If I win you can all see me do my best "Joan Crawford" impression! (OK, actually its my Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford impression).

Naw, we'd do it like the Stargate Fan Awards: the winners and runners-up get graphics to proudly display on whatever website/blog/journal they use. Or they could print them off and use them for TP, who knows? Surely we have someone here that can make cool graphics (jason!!)

I think an end-of-the-year awards would be a neat idea as well. Too bad I can't go to Seattle for the convention, however. Sounds like a lot of fun (what is it about Palmer Bradshaw though ) I also like the ideas for awards to be presented so far. If you're going to do post proficiency, though, you might also do one for the longest (and possible shortest) single post on the boards. Longest thread might be a problem because they have been adjusted before to tighten them (if that makes any sense). Other awards might be senior board member of the year (if you have rookies, have to have pros), most thought provoking thread (or post, if we can find them ), silliest thread and best fanart. (Seeing some of the work Jason's created (both GAH and his character Mass,) he'd be perfect to do the graphics for the awards.)

I think it's quite funny myself, considering some of the banter we've had around here lately with posts (length, amount etc.), favorite characters, story thread moves etc. I'd like to see how this turns out myself. Probably be real cool.

It would look something like this: houdiniderekSuperhero WINNER: MelMac's B¡+¢# Award member is online

But this is a cool idea as well MyTatuo. That way, people can see what award others received.

MelMac, you should be honored, I laugh every time I see it, and knowing the quantity of HD's posts, I see it a LOT (note I didn't say QUALITY)

Me! I'm the Mrs. Oh, and I'm from NJ...I can kick all your arses with one hand tied behind my back! [sarcasm] As I recall, in "Lilacs, Mr. Maxwell," Bill intimated that his wife was NO MORE. "I never wanted anyone like this, not since my wife." Nyeh, you lose I've been wanting to write a tale about Bill and the wife. I'm sure it'd be very tragic, because I get the impression that she died I've got an idea, I'll PM it to ya, MrsM, if you want to hear it. If not, then don't.

MelMac, you should be honored, I laugh every time I see it, and knowing the quantity of HD's posts, I see it a LOT (note I didn't say QUALITY) Oh, I take a joke as a joke (just seems to be a running one around here lately though). I think it's funny as well, though I'm still confused about HD's comment in the "Dreams" thread, unless it refers to me accidentally concussing the character HD in the story. (Can't say much, Mel, my namesake, had her share of injury throughout as well. ) I've actually laughed at a lot of the jokes around here. I mean, come on, the tickertape one on the main page regarding the game thread is one of my favorites (..."And I think MelMac and houdiniderek might have posted as well" still gives me a laugh every time I read it. ) (Won't comment on quality/quantity of anyone's threads. I've written enough short and nonsensical ones to last a lifetime myself. And, to be fair, I think HD had some of the best story moves in the game thread. He kept me thinking through to the end. That last move I did was the hardest because he wrote his last one so well (and also to not give it a lame ending).)

I have to admit, I wasn't keeping up with the interactive thread, my b The recap that I believe MyTatuo did kinda threw me for a loop, it sounded so complicated and I couldn't really picture it happening, so I didn't want to jump in in the middle of it.

I have to admit, I wasn't keeping up with the interactive thread, my b The recap that I believe MyTatuo did kinda threw me for a loop, it sounded so complicated and I couldn't really picture it happening, so I didn't want to jump in in the middle of it. Yeah, MyTatuo had to clarify some of my errors when I wrote about the move he made that was pulled (later replaced), which froze the story for seven months. The first half of the story summary, however, I wrote, and will use it along with the rest of the story posts for a summary to be posted with the epilogue. I'm probably going to shorten it out a bit, a) to avoid major spoilers and confusion and b) so it isn't anywhere near 4,534 words (my last move, and the longest post on the board I think). (Note: Game thread spoilers ahead) But, to help out with the two characters, Henry Danielson (HD) is the first person Ralph meets when he travels to the past. Not an actual scene written but inferred, HD finds Ralph lying unconscious next to a rock (he's injured when he travels through the fog) and brings him to the cabin. After Ralph recovers, he talks to HD about an item that is traveling that could bring danger to them all. HD helps him find the rider (Jack), and is an important character throughout the story. Mel, my namesake, is actually Ralph's great-great-grandmother. She is important in the story, being tied to events throughout. In her case (injury wise), she takes a sip of drugged whiskey (the bad green guys put a strong mickey in the whiskey to try to knock out Ralph, but he doesn't drink it), which originally knocks her out, but she worsens because she doesn't have the protection of the suit (the drug can be lethal to humans). Despite this, she is instrumental in Ralph's final decision. The story reads better than my original summary, with everything strangely enough tying together well. Hope you enjoy reading it. (And, I'm looking forward to the next one. I know you'll give me a good challenge to write against too. You're a very good fanfic writer. )
