I told my son that all I wanted for my Christmas present (besides him being here) is for him to watch some key eps of GAH. We just watched the Pilot, and "The Hit Car" is ending. I'm going to pop in either Best Desk Scenario or My Heroes... I asked him, So, you wanna watch another one? And he said, Sure!
Sigh, I'm so happy. And he agrees: Bill rules. (After the scene with Johnny the Dancer in the restaurant, lol!)
My only child loves John Denver, one of my favorite sci-fi authors, Eminem and now he's becoming a GAH fan. He asked, Do you have the whole series??
I told him I can't wait till "Divorce..." but we need to watch them in sequence, so he can see how the characters and show changes over time.

You're right to build up to DVS - you've got to earn that one. I was watching a couple of other third season eps the other night and it's just amazing how the friendship between the three characters radiates in stories like W&W. It doesn't mean as much if you haven't seen all stuff it took to get there. Keep the reports coming!

Yeah the kids I sit for are now fans. They love GAH. Still shocked that the 8yr old is a REAL big Maxwell fan. She loves it when he flips his badge. we are here to show kids that there were good tv shows. not like this reality crap. Ya know MTV USED to be Music Television. AND Mike Nesmith was a large part of it's creation. He must've sold out. Bummer.

I grant you that Bill is cool...he is one of my favorites too, which is why I never voted in the FAVORITE CHARACTER thread. But, how can any man NOT say Pam?

Oh, trust me... he knows the charms of one Miss Pam Davidson. He agreed: she's drop-dead gorgeous.

Okay....good. Had he not at least mentioned it, we might want to make sure that he was not exposed to uranium bullets.

Humor me while you are on the second season...you have to show him at least one of the following, if not both if he is up for it: HOG WILD and/or THE LOST DIABLO...preferably both, but at least one or the other.

The Lost Diablo, definitely. Great characterization in that one, esp at the end, one of the three favorite scenes of Season Two I chose.
The Best Desk Scenario is next up.
I ALMOST jumped the gun to The Beast in the Black, since I sent him part of my story from Bill's POV, but no, I'm going to build up to it.
And like silverhammer said, one has to earn DVS, build up to it too. I've already told him DVS is the best of them all, at least IMO. He'd asked about the instruction book, so I gave him a little foreshadowing and told him they get a SECOND one (didn't tell him it, too, is lost) and they meet the green guys for the first time. Didn't tell him anything else!

I was babysitting, and hte kids and i were watching GAH (what else) and weer watching Dreams. Now Jonny was in the car with his 2 goons and the 11 yr old bust out and was laughing thru the rest of the show andinto bed at this one line,,, Johnny is impatiently waiting for a responce from them and says..."Well say some thing! I'm not paying you to sit here and grow leaves." amongst all the other things funny in the ep. and when he finally stopped laughing something funny in the ep happens and they ALL start laughing about the leaves,..Kids. ay gotta love em. So as I'm puttin the 6 yr old to bed, the other 2 are drawing pics of a guy growing leaves. It was a running gag the rest of the night.

Thank you for showing him DIABLO at the very least.

Although PLAGUE should have been included too.

Of course "Plague" will be included. It's the one that made me fall in love with Bill.
Next up: Best Desk Scenario then (yea!) O:SS. I told him we're watching O:SS on my computer, since it's the original version (albeit cut a TEENY bit, but not so's you'd notice.) I told him it's very important to hear EoD on it, it totally makes the ep.
Beast in the Black is after O:SS I think (need to check if that or Plague).
It's only my personal opinion that of all the eps, DVS is the very bestest, if I had to choose one. Heck, could never choose one for Trek, I sure can't pick a Numero Uno for GAH either.

Are you not playing them in order? If you are, O:SS would come before THE BEAST IN THE BLACK. If he likes OPERATION, show him both versions so he can see the musical importance...although the song they replaced it with is good too, especially since it is not about Vietnam.

Well yeah, I said Best Desk Scenario then O:SS then I think either Plague or Beast in the Black (I'll have to check). I know O:SS was the 2nd S2 ep (for some strange reason I can't fathom, should've been the opener).
It'll still be a while till DVS, since S2 had some gems, and of course is the only full season.

I think BEAST comes first...Plague was the 8th episode...I think it went BEAST, DIABLO, then PLAGUE.

Beast was great because we got to see Ralph Vunerable in the suit, but he must be a scifi buff to know about theings like the 5th dimention and stuff. I think he is more of an egghead than he lets on.

Good catch. He sticks his head back out and tells Bill that and it does make him seem like a huge egghead. And it is fourth dimension.

My son gets Bill already, just in the Pilot ep:
Bill, after he meets Pam: "You're prob'ly a feminist."
My son, doing a continuation of Bill's line: "Prob'ly not wearing a bra either."
LOL, that's my boy!

I think he is more of an egghead than he lets on. I doubt it, cuz most scientists consider time to be the fourth dimension. But I think we've gone 'round about that one before.
