I just watched CB, and enjoyed it (some of the comedy is really quite funny), but they really toss off the death of the poor ol' reporter, who wasn't really a bad guy (you can't blame a guy for wanting to run what was truly a news scoop!), after all he was the guy initially trying to help Bellybuster nail the bad guys. But it's almost like we should be grateful that he gets killed so he can't reveal Ralph's secret! And when he gets killed, while I can understand Maxwell's jadedness, Ralph and Pam barely seem to notice or show concern that a man loses his life a foot in front of them! Ralph and Pam's behavior in that scene and when they all calmly walk out of the building doesn't seem all that in character!
Still, a good episode!

Interesting observation. This was a good episode but the lack of compasion is usually an example of poor writing. I still remember in the old Star Treks, the extras would get one brief hammy scene of Shatner mourning and then that was it! I even remember a Star Trek Next Generation movie where all the crew mourned the "death" of the android character but seemed to forget how many members of the crew had really died moments before!!
Anyway, Bellybuster was quite a cute wittle episode with Bellybuster being so PROUD of his costume and Ralph so embarassed.

I watched this episode this weekend with a buddy of mine who is no big fan of "GAH", at all. He mentioned that it seemed much more violent than "The A-Team"; the reporter dies on-screen after being shot off-screen (the shot is heard but not seen), and at the end of the episode, Culp subdues the badguy by shooting him on-screen.
and all this at eight o'clock on a school night in 1982.
But God forbid The A-Team should even threaten to shoot someone, or shoot at someone's vehicle to disable it, or just plain punch out the bad guys without ever pulling their weapons...can't have any of that, now, can we?

"What's going on here the Macy's Day Parade?"
"I bet your friends think you dress weird"
;D ;D
I really liked the humour in this episode. But yeah, I have always noticed how coldly the reporter was offed and how Ralph and Pam never seemed to care much. I'm sure there could have been a way to keep the guy alive and retain Ralph's secret.
I loved how p*ssed off Carlisle was at how everything made so much sense at the end and Maxwell got away with another one. He knew that that wasn't the real story, (with Captian Bellybuster being passed off as an FBI informant and as the mysterious flying man) but he couldn't deny how it all made sense.

Heck, at worst they could've had Ralph and Pam show concern, and Bill say "He's dead, we gotta move on, it won't do him any good if we're locked up in the rubber rooms!" or something and have him pull them out against their will.
As Hunter, or, ahem, Ralph (!) says...."Works for Me!"

Wasn't Ralph more concerned about Pam banging her head on a pipe when she tried to dodge a bullet? I think Bill and Ralph were more concerned about Pam getting hurt than they were with the dead reporter.

Well, I can only speak for myself, but I was sure more worried about Pam hitting her head than I was about the dead reporter. <GASP!>

He was, after all, a reporter. Only slightly better than lawyers.

Speaking of lawyers, I always thought that it was hillarious have Pamela driving around in a VW bug ;D Of course, if she was an ethical lawyer then that would explain why she was poor.

^I always wondered what Robert Culp mentioned in the 1st season DVD interviews, that Ralph was way overmatched with Pam. She was this young hot attorney, and he was a regular looking high school teacher who already had a son. Granted, I suppose their relationship was not based on any superficial qualities....as Pam kinda told Rhonda in Saturday on Sunset Blvd.
