Hey everyone.
I just bought the season 1 set and am having a great time getting back to my adolescence watching these shows.
I wasn't very impressed with the GAHeroine. It was poorly scripted and the GAHeroine was obviously cast for her figure and not her talent... no wonder the pilot didn't sell. (Don't get me wrong... she was sexy, but I didn't like her.)
The interview stuff is golden though... especially Robert Culp. Its always really cool to see somebody with that kind of track record talk about method and come off as a really nice guy. I think his suggestion for the movie is a good one too.
I read some of the other posts about folk's ideas for the movie version. Like the horrifically poor Galactica 1980 sequel to Battlestar Galactica, my personal opinion is that it is best to simply ignore the events in GAHeroine. Unlike Galactica 1980, it never made it to the airwaves so the general populace would really just be confused about the "missing heroine" that was mentioned as a plot point.
Having Ralph pass the suit to someone new is a good idea, though. And it would be a great way to revitalize the property to have Ralph retire just as Bill Maxwell was retiring from the FBI. As far as alien invasions and such go, I'd love it if they could skip all that and get back to the original idea for the show which was exploring the human condition via the warped view of these characters who suddenly have a completely insane situation heaped upon them. Not that the two are mutually exclusive, but just having him be Superman is a waste of time since Superman already does that so well.
Now, of course, updating would happen. They'd probably want to change the look of the suit. You can pretty much consider that a done deal. So to appease the fans of the old suit, I'd suggest that a coincidental event cause Ralph to "burn out" the old suit. He has to push the suit past it's limit and save the world one last time. The "little green guys" would provide a new, revised, updated and improved suit, but leave it to Ralph to pass it on. This could literally happen in the first 15 minutes of the show so that the new cast could step in and establish themselves.
Anyway, that's my unsolicited two cents. Nice to meet you all!
