Anyone know where I can get vintage GAH stuff? Excluding ebay and yahoo auctions.

Vintage TGAH material is very difficult to find. Only one toy was ever released, and complete mint in box it commands a high price. Rare prototype figures can also be found that command an even higher price. The only licensed items included the one toy set, the records, the sheet music, and a couple of childrens t-shirts. Because of Time Warners lawsuit, potential licensee's all back away. So we never had TGAH lunchboxes, notebooks, badge and gun set (for you Culp fans) Halloween costumes, etc. Thanks Time Warner... we all know how much this show just devastated the sales of Superman related material.

Warners stepped in even before the pilot aired and a judge actually had to view TGAH pilot AND the Superman films (or maybe just one film) before ruling if the tv movie could air. So while the judge's ruling was in favor of ABC and Cannell Productions, the pilot did get trimmed up to eliminate at least one reference to Superman. Warners appealed, and the battle went on. In the end Cannell and company won, but that's why we didn't see anything produced at all thoughout the entire run of the show. Heck, even Street Hawk only ran half a season on ABC, and you can find a bunch of merchandise for that series.

That sounds as about as dumb as the Star Wars Galactica lawsuit way back when. Well there has got to be more people out there other then us who want NEW GAH product.

Makes you wonder if huge sales of the DVD could prompt anyone to create a new line of toys (or something similar) for G.A.H. Nice thought anyway...

They obviously saw GAH as a big enough threat.

I spit at Time Warner....if not for them, back in the 80's we would have had 3 3/4 inch Ralph and Bill figures with a Maxwell tan sedan that could be wrecked, and the doors fall off. Bust'em and Badge'em playsets, Ben Cooper TGAH Halloween costumes.
Okay that was just a start of a dream list...but I really did read that Ben Cooper was one of the licensees who backed off after hearing about the lawsuit.

I know it's not the real thing, but if you want something close to the 8-inch Mego prototype of the GAH figure, there's a guy who does a lot of Mego repro stuff. www.drmego.com. He mostly specializes in DC and MArvel characters, but if you look at the repro boxes he does, there's some GAH art. He used to sell complete GAH repro figures at conventions. Same guy also sells figures at 7th st. toys. In fact, check out this link and look at the Balder the Brave character: www.7thsttoys.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=7&Category_Code=VAll you need is the symbol. FYI, I am not affiliated with this person, but I've bought some of his stuff and he's a decent, honest guy. As for the small figures, if you don't want to pay an arm and a leg, your best bet is to just hunt in thrift stores. I know, I know, lame advice, but that is how I found my Bill figure: in a baggie of assorted action figures and Happy Meal toys. My cost: 50 frickin cents! And that was just 2 years ago. Almost justifies the ridiculous amount I spent on a loose Ralph on ebay. Persevere!!

I didnt think they made enough to show up at a thrift store. Thrift stores are cool.
Thanks for the link. I contacted him to see if he can make a GAH fig and see how much it would cost.

Hey, hope it helped.
I know the little GAH figures/car set are rare now, but anytime I want to chew my own guts out, I can just think back to when I was about 12, living in southern New Jersey, and seeing just a STACK of those box sets on clearance at a local store (it was either at K-Mart or Kay-Bee, can't remember. Maybe both). Seems like they were there for months. At one point, they were, like, $1.99 a box. I liked the show, but hey, I was 12. I didn't play with action figures (that sound you hear is me kicking myself). Even after that I saw a shelf of em at some fly-by-night discount warehouse, and it was all the overstock from the K-Marts and Kay-Bees. And this was just one little podunk place in southern NJ, one among many.
Which is why I figure there have to be scads of these guys still floating around in toy boxes and Goodwill toy grab bags like the one where I got Bill. Yeah, the longer time goes by, the luckier you have to be. And it pays to live in podunk, outta the way places (like I tend to) because the thrift stores in these locales aren't as easily reached and picked over as they are in bigger places.
Anyway, that's my positive-thinking-message for the day, and I'm willing you all my spare toy-finding-karma. Good luck!!
