Can I make a special request?
If Jason Robert "A.A.H." Yates does nothing else, that he make a comic book of THIS story?
I'm just having soooo much trouble visualizing it....

Well, I certainly wouldn't mind, if he wouldn't! Which version? I want to see an image of Bill Maxwell carrying a protest sign amidst a buncha hippies. I know what YOU want to see, too.

LOL, aw... maybe I should introduce a character named Derek for Pam to be fascinated with! It'd be your own Marty Stu, HD! Hmmm, well, I imagine you're not going to read this, HD, but I wish you would. You'd know Pam's characterization, after all; I think I'm doing well staying in character for both her and Bill (Ralph's gone to Las Vegas, so he's a non-issue, at least for now). Hey, in my wild half-asleep fantasies, I envisioned a THIRD ending: Ralph founds out and kills them both, muwhahahahahaha!! Scenario: Pam calls Ralph's hotel a few times, and he's always unavailable (this is really going to be in the story). Ralph gets the messages from the hotel clerk, and tries to call Pam back. Her office: "Oh, she's on vacation," her secretary, Bill, tells him. Ralph's like, WTF? He calls Bill at the FBI office, "Oh he's on vacation." Ralph: DOUBLE WTF?? My girlfriend and my best friend and partner are on vacation, without even telling me? While I'm gone? Something aint' right here.... Ralph returns to L.A. after the conference ends, goes directly home and puts on the suit, and guess what he does? He holographs in on Pam & Bill! Oh, mergatroyd! The next day, the paper reads: FBI Agent, Local Attorney, Found Dead In Execution Style Murders! A few days later, the paper reads: Whitney High School Teacher Missing After Vegas Conference See? I'm a sick f..., ain't I? I have no idea who Marty Stu is but I hope you did put my characterization in there...make it easier for me to read. Who wants Bill and Pam anyway? I will read it...but is it 100% complete? You know how I hate cliffhangers. Is it posted all together or will I have to keep clicking on links and such? My attention span is short. Finally, it is not another cross-over I won't understand is it? That one with Q or whatever letter was impossible. And I think if Pam is thinking Bill and Ralph as bed cohorts, she should be killed.

You know how I hate cliffhangers. Is it posted all together or will I have to keep clicking on links and such? My attention span is short. To answer the question as best as I can, HD, a Marty Stu is like a Mary Sue, someone who puts themselves into the story and basically saves the day. It isn't like what we did in the story, as we didn't let either the characters HD or Mel directly save the day, it was still Ralph's decision. Nor did we have them flirt with the characters, HD being obvious (though this might have been different if Pam was there ) and Mel was pretty much out cold most of the story (but I wouldn't have put her in a situation where she flirted with Ralph). We kept the characters as that, fictional characters. Also, Marty or Mary usually is cheerful, always perky and never wrong. The only similarity (and it's slight) either character had to this personality is that Mel was instrumental in Ralph's decision on the rubies (mumbling the answer in her delirium, but it's indirect, why I said slight). Now, billswoman's story is completed, and is on the fanfiction Web site. It's very good, but you've might have read my comments, so I won't say a word elsewise. (If I've missed something, billswoman, any additional info would help and feel free to correct me. )

You've pretty much pegged it, MelMac, thanks. There is another slant to Mary Sues and Marty Stus though... deliberate ones. It's usually an immature fanfic writer who does them unintentionally, but deliberate ones can be a blast to write, like I did with "What a Buncha Characters." That was me interviewing my favorite characters (at the time of writing... I neglected to include Jaime Sommers and Samantha Carter, silly me.) Here's What a Buncha Characters: www.fanfiction.net/s/2592628/1/ It's in the TV Crossovers, since it's got so many fandoms in it. I can confess now who Mystery Man is: Robinton, from McCaffrey's Pern books. At the time I wrote it, she still had her "Verboten" sign up for ANY fanfic based on her worlds, but since then she's lifted that restriction... and a whole new world (namely Pern) has opened up for me in fan fiction, whoo!! I'm going to get the GAH ones that're floating in my wee brain done first, then dig out my Pern books and get started. As for "To the Wild Country," yeah, it's done. I couldn't bring myself to write an MA-rated scene, I just couldn't. Lauren blushed just readin the T-rated one (equivalent to PG13), so I guess I did something right, whoohooo!! Any Bill/Pam fans should keep tabs on silverhammer and what she's writing it's going to be GREAT! It all starts with "Come Together Over Me" at www.fanfiction.net/s/2673637/1/ (and it's the BEATLES SONG, y'all get your minds outta the gutter! or not, I don't care.) Anyhoot, you can read the completed "To the Wild Country" at www.fanfiction.net/s/2662215/1/ . I'm despit for any reviews, please, won't you give one? You'll reap good karma if you do. Or not, I don't care.

Thanks, billswoman. I've read your "Whata bunch of characters" one and thought it was good (and quite funny). It's been a while since I've read it though, so I forgot you were the interviewer. More I think of it, I've written a couple of what are now called Mary Sues. One was for "M*A*S*K" (can't give the name because it's a reversal of my names, but it would be the equivalent of MacMel ). I also two others that were based on "ST: Deep Space Nine." My Mary Sue character worked alongside Bashir, one of my favorites in the show (Odo was the other). I have them somewhere (well, not the M*A*S*K one), but I don't know where exactly, and most of it I don't remember.

My only things that come close to fanfiction would be the scripts I have written for STARGATE SG-1 and STARGATE ATLANTIS.

I see it as group fanfic ). I've done two myself, one for "Ghostbusters" (with Jake, Eddie and Tracy), and I think a "Deep Space Nine" one. Neither of course, were published. I was in third grade when I wrote the first, and the second one was a bit silly (and Mary Sue ).

If I could get an agent, I would be working on getting them used. I don't know what sets these and fanfiction apart. Plus, I am working on some for the sitcom HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.
