And I hear the new series is WAY below the original...so I guess fan fiction ISN'T the way to go.

Don't knock it until you've tried it. Have you even seen the TV series (any version, the '63-'89 run or the 2005 one)? You can listen to teasers too on that sight I posted earlier if you have speakers. They're really good. Any series can have duff episodes (in fact, the one I remembered watching from "Doctor Who" when I was little I dispise[\i] now), so there's always the plusses and minuses to it. And, to top it off, the writers from the radio series are actually the ones that have written the best stories of the new Doctor Who run. The main writer, however, has written the duff stories. Go figure.
Like I said, if they did a mixture of both the original writers and some scripts fans have written (those they like the best), then it could and I believe would work. The show ended too soon for us fans, and this would give a chance to continue the series with new stories and ideas.

Of course, they could get IDEAS from fan fic, and then have professionals help edit them. That way, you can get fresh ideas, but consistant and top-notch writing.
So how was that for diplomatic...?

I don't really care either way as I doubt it likely to happen, especially since the DVDs are out and the new box set coming out. Besides, they would have to determine what to do about HEROINE if they did new stories because some think it is canon and real and some do not.

we'll just pretend that heroine NEVER happened. we'll start from the beginning, weave some new stuff in, continue storylines that needed further depth, etc. You never know unless you try, right?? Believe in the dream!!!

Besides, they would have to determine what to do about HEROINE if they did new stories because some think it is canon and real and some do not. I knew you'd be the devil's advocate around here HD. 'Course, makes for livlier conversations. They can work around Heroine as the stories can be set between televised stories. Doctors 5-7 haven't been on TV since the at least 1984 as the Doctors. Doctors 5&6 can only have stories for their Doctors set between "Castrovalva" and "Caves of Androzani" for the fifth and "The Twin Dilemma" and "The Ultimate Foe" for the Sixth. The Seventh Doctor gets a little more leniancy as he's got between "Time and the Rani" and the 1996 TV movie. Ace, his companion at the time of the show's halt was not in the TV movie, so there was an adventure where she left. What this means for "GAH" is that it's possible that a story such as my "Identity Strike" could fit somewhere between two stories, such as "Now You See It" and "The Hand-Painted Thai." The original trio could have things happen between the stories that we don't know about. I mean, it's obvious all 43 episodes didn't happen in 43 days.

Well, duh. We find that out in TRAIN OF THOUGHT. However, if we are keeping it with the original ideas, then at the end of the series, they would probably adapt HEROINE to the audio as well. Fair is fair. Besides, most people that would buy audio probably have the DVDs or know that HEROINE was released. Dream all you want...I'll wake you when it is time for reality. Besides, I like HEROINE overall...mainly because the suit gets transferred and our trio bows out in a great little scene.

The only part I like about Heroine is how they handle the trio's farewell. And, given the fact it's one story, HD, they could just write one more (and NOT "Ties...") where Holly screws up and loses the suit, only to have it hand off to someone else. They did that with Ralph you know. Just took him being set up and getting caught to boost his ego.
Before you argue, they are doing a one-off Big Finish with one companion who was 'suaded to do it. She agreed.... only that one story. It's possible the same would hold true to Holly... but they don't have to include her and give her stories. It's up to the powers that be. Personally, I think the trio would sell better than Holly-Bill stories, so they'd more than likely not do them for the fact they'd be losing money. Reason: Fans don't like Holly and newcomers would prefer the one wearing the suit longer.

As for Holly, I agree that she could easily lose the suit, but I don't see it going back to Ralph. And depending some people might be curious to hear some Bill and Holly stories. Those would give ample wiggle room too since none were ever produced and aired.

As far as I'm concerned, no one, save for a few people would actually like some more Holly/Bill adventures. BUT, having old and new stories with the original trio would sell much better anyways. So there.

Maybe. It would for the die-hard fans of GAH, but if new people being exposed see HEROINE, they might like Holly and Bill. I wouldn't mind knowing what some of the ideas for the series were. They might have been good. Besides, if HEROINE had been picked up, I was old enough I would have remembered it in its original run where I am not for GAH. That might have made me more sympathetic.

Ugh. Nothing could make me sympathetic to that pathetic Holly. And I do mean pathetic!!
Honestly, the most annoying human being on the earth. Blech! Those wishy washy dames who are all bubbles and smiles and puppy dogs and kittens ... yuck! I bet her bedroom is painted pink, too!
I did not even see her as the female version of Ralph. I liked Ralph. I thought he was a good guy. Fun. A good sense of humor. Bleeding heart liberal, social causes, into sharing, all that stuff. But not puppy dogs and kittens!
And talk about sharing the love... Holly would bake you a cake, but wouldn't jump out of one, if you know what I mean...
Bill: That's my girl, Jo! You tell them! You know, you're the only skirt I wouldn't mind being partners with! You've got balls!
GAH Noir: **scratches head** Uh, Bill, what did we learn last night, while sharing the love...?
**Bill scratches head, thinking**
GAH Noir: I guess you're gonna have to repeat that lesson...

Too bad for Bill that RC SUGGESTED a woman for the part who WASN'T you. And the fact that Bill keeps looking Holly up and down...more so than he did O'Neil. Admit it, Josie, you are worried that if those two got together again, they would rekindle the Anna Nicole Smith syndrome they both had.

But I understand why... I was ONLY 15 at the time. HELLO!! Can you say ILLEGAL!! Hello!! I mean, sure, at 15 I could have **played** the role. But how on earth could I REALLY have played it without sharin the love? I mean, come on!

Bill would never have said no. RC, maybe. But not Bill...
Now, this is up for debate, however. Take a look at Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice... I mean, that movie was ALL ABOUT sharing the love...

That's okay...I think I will stick to GAH and why I believe that the audio stories will not be as successful as the DVDs.
