I've got three in the queue - one is complete but needs to be beta'd again, and two that are WIPs...
And, that's in addition to stuff that I'm doing in the real world, which hopefully will include moving into a larger apartment around November and a quillow I must get done for someone. (I know, I'm repetitive here but if I don't do it occasionally, I'll forget about it and that's not fair to the person I promised it to).

I'm glad this board is finally serving a greater purpose than sheer entertainment value.
Perhaps I should rename it: Mel's Reminder Notebook
;D

I'm glad this board is finally serving a greater purpose than sheer entertainment value. Perhaps I should rename it: Mel's Reminder Notebook ;D Funny... especially since half the time I forget what I wrote in here as far as what I need to do. But, I guess I could at times could use this slogan - "The Greatest American Hero message board - for those who need a digital string tied around their finger."

Somebody loves me.
Somebody wrote me Bill fanfiction.
Somebody really loves me, because they wrote angst-filled Bill fanfiction.
It's just a little ficlet, and the author is still anonymous, but ladies and gents, may I direct you to
Life piled on life
It was one of my gifts for the 2007 Yuletide rare fanfic exchange. I heart you, still secret author.
For anyone else who is interested, the Yuletide archive is now open. There are great fanfics in LOTS of different rare fandoms.
If it's rare, it's there!
Maybe....

Thanks for letting us know about that ficlet, Jo. Although, it did make my stomach tighten up reading it. I guess it's one possibility in the universe of GAH, and it brought in an interesting idea or two, and one side of Bill was very well captured, but thank goodness it's not MY version of Bill's later years. If it was, I'd walk around crying all the time!

Sad. Very sad. No, not the plight of modern day Bill Maxwel, although that is also sad. I refer, of course, to the dearth of tGAH fic here, and the (minimal) length of what there is. One ficlet for Jo this year, and one ficlet for BW last year. So very sad. Of course, we have only ourselves to blame. The following is mostly OT, of course, but check out this sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? on said site, and be jealous.

Yes, we have ourselves to blame. There is the opportunity, however, for New Years Resolutions - to write anytime during the New Year...
And I have something already in the works.
Mona, I may need to pick your brains a bit...
Yes, I did see the Roger Rabbit one, but haven't read it yet.
For Billswoman, there is WKRP, MASH (and some Charles slash... I bet you'll like that one!), and maybe some other fun stuff.
There is a Laverne and Shirley for Lauren
There is also Dr Who and Avengers...
You know, Ms. B, I think for NEXT YEAR, we should nominate AND WRITE Man from Earth fic. I would do it. Oh, man.... boy could I do it. Wheels turning. Remind me.
I wrote 5 - YES 5!! - of the stories this year. I will let you know which ones soon as the authors are revealed.
I must admit, I did not write a GAH one this year. The only request was for a slash/threesome piece, and alas, I just can't slash my boys. I have tried, but it's not right as far as I am concerned. I could slash Snape and Dumbledor, but not Ralph and Bill.
Oh well...

I couldn't write any because I've been busy, but the fanfics there are good though. Might try my hand at a New Year's Eve one or Easter ... I've got a plot bunny there though that would be funny. (keeping there though, but I could keep it short - and no bad guys, knocking people out or - for HD - that other character I write. )

Well, I had a little idea yesterday and wrote out a whole little tale in 16 pages. A Bill oriented story but told from Ralph's point of view, and it's a very decent showing of Ralph as well. It could actually, and surprisingly, be called a Ralph tale with a bit of Bill in it. Something new and original, I think, linking to Bill's past.
It's all set to go. I guess I'll put it up at fanfiction.net later tonight. It's called "The Right Thing". Two long chapters only. Hope you enjoy! Don't be shy to give me feedback.
Mona PS: Jo, some nice Bill angst in it.

Nice! There is also another site I have been looking at called FanLib.com - it is a bit more user friendly than Fanfic.net, but not as much stuff there. I will cross post my stuff.
Check it out.
Oh. Bill angst.
It really is Christmas...
I wrote a nice little fanfic this morning. Just plopped out of my head. But it's not GAH. I must confess - I have been a bit of a fandom Ho this week.
As I said...it's Christmas...

Ok. Today the Yuletide Challenge revealed the authors. I just want to say I did not write any GAH this time around.
But if anyone is interested, I wrote 5 stories in the following fandoms.
The Blues Brothers M*A*S*H Laverne and Shirley Buck Rogers in the 25th century
Summaries and links are in the Author Index.
They will be on the Yuletide site. I will soon post them either on my livejournal, or on Fanfiction.net. Plus I will update my author index with new links as I post them elsewhere.

It's that time again!
Time to think about the 2008 Yuletide Fanfiction Writing Exchange. www.yuletidetreasure.org/index.shtml
Nominations are currently being accepted for Yuletide 2008. www.yuletidetreasure.org/nomi...te_fandoms.cgi
I have nominated GAH, but hopefully more will sign up and add it so it would appear on the list for sure. Also, if anyone wants to add any other related tv shows, films, or even real person fiction, now is the time to add your nominations!
And as a bit of a fun, I also added The Man from Earth. Now, if we could get some MFE fanfiction out there, I would be REALLY impressed!
So come on... Let's get more GAH fiction out there!

Ok. It's that time again.
The Yuletide Rare and Obscure Fanfiction Archive is open once again.
And sadly, it was another thin year for GAH. Only one fic. I have not read through it all yet, but the first few paragraphs seem promising...
Action Figure (Some Parts Sold Separately)
Author is still anonymous until Jan 1st. But you can read and review!

Hello, Jo,
I found it impossible to sign into that contest. It's too complicated and I could not fill out all the sections, apparently, properly. After trying three times, I just gave up. I guess I'm too daft to figure out how to enter! There's no reason the organizers can't simplify what is essentially a volunteer story writing contest.
I read the TGAH one, though, and enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for the link!

I agree. The sign up (and upload) is a bit complicated, and I have had problems with it, too. But I like the idea, so that's why I keep going back.
I was even stumped this year by the due date. My fault (I wasn't paying enough attention) but I sometimes find myself wondering how I missed a deadline.
But I sort of understand why it's a bit complicated. There are well over 1000 participants, and everyone is writing obscure stuff, so to make matches, they need a lot of info to computer generate matches...
And you think that is crazy, you should see what happens when people pull out, and all of a sudden you need to find someone to write a 1000+ word story for a fandom that no one else knows about...
I have also participated in small holiday exchanges, such as a Laverne and Shirley one, where it was just a few people. I often wonder if someone would organize a small one for GAH, but people often seem busy, or prefer to write what they want, not what is requested...
Anyway, if you decide next year to give it a go, I can work with you to help you out. (I've seen people volunteer to even upload other people's stories when that process stumped them.) All things are possible!![/size]

It's that time again!
Time to think about the 2009 Yuletide Fanfiction Writing Exchange.
Nominations open tonight for Yuletide 2009. www.yuletidetreasure.org/
I am not sure if I will nominate GAH this year - I have a whole bunch of others I might want to try out! The only way to be sure, though, is to nominate it for yourself!
I am going to nominate The Man from Earth again. No one bit last year... hopefully someone will this year! So come on... Let's get more GAH fiction out there!

OK, I nominated tGAH, as well as some others.
Now, the instructions said that is was mainly for participants (tho they won't check later), but this is just a wish list at the moment, right? Not what we plan to actually write about? We choose that later? I chose my favorite series/genres, but some I don't think I know well enough to make up a whole story about...

Exactly. You just want to make sure that things you want to write for get nominated. Otherwise, when sign up comes, you might not have anything on that list which was chosen.
Now, here's my question -
Someone keeps putting House up. The problem is that House - the tv show - is NOT a rare fandom. But then I started thinking... is someone trying to nominate House the movie? With William Katt?
If you are, you should let the mods know, and resubmit - this time being specific that it's House (movie). Otherwise, it will get taken off the list.
I think A-Team got taken off too, since it's not a rare enough fandom.
