Ok just got this FWD'ed from Dennis Madalone. So, next Sunday, July 19 is the premiere screening of The Greatest American Hero, a new fan webisode series directed by yours truly, produced by Frank J. Zanca and Timothy Ryder , and based on the classic 80s show of the same name (Note: we are not associated with the Cannell Company). Starring Allen Rueckert, Don Stark, Brittany Ross, Morgan Snyder, Duane Daniels, Andreas Riter, Susie Abromeit and Jane Singer. The premiere is FREE, but please RSVP to frank@staytunedtv.net to ensure we've got enough seating for you. Premiering before The Greatest American Hero is Just the 3 of Us, a sketch comedy webisode series starring Kristen Herbert, Brandon McConnell and Rick Steadman. The entire program should last just over an hour. Please take a look at the attached flyer, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. We're very excited and look forward to seeing you next Sunday the 19th! PERFECT!!! I will be in LA that week and will have my costume to wear to it! I already RSVP'd

Marci, so is Dennis Madalone actually directing this? I'm just a little confused is all. That said, if that's true it'll be neat to see someone from the show do a fun version of the series - and at least they're saying they're not affiliated with SJC's group. It also probably means he does at least know about it.

I just hope that it stays the parody-feeling that I've gotten from it so we can at least see all of this pilot. At least they admit they have no ties to SJC's group - which in turn acknowledges that they in fact show that SJC created the show to begin with.

Just came from the New Beverly Cinema of the premier of The Greatest American Hero. It was pretty good!! They were asking questions about the show and I was the only one who knew and was given a DVD copy of the 30 min show.
I was thinking of posting it on youtube, but that would be rude to Frank and the guys and gals that worked hard on this over at StayedTune.net
only 3 more days till Comic Con!!

Did they at least say when it was going to debut on Staytunedtv.net? Can you at least give us a little bit about it such as if it's more of a parody/fun tribute than serious (i.e. the attempt done last year by another group)? And - apparently I'm still lost on when you're doing comic con. I came home tonight expecting to hear a bit about the con... but it's THREE days away.

here are some pics of the DVD they gave me and the marque So I was on my way to the event and got there a little early and there was nothing to indicate that this was going to happen, they even had a billing of other movies there. So I figured that I was not going to dress up and be the only one there .... well, we went back at 30 till and they were all just getting there setting up. I was so upset that I was not in my suit for this. Oh well... lets move on. So noticed Frank right away .. He is the producer of this and introduced myself. He kinda gave me a weird look and then remembered (kinda of) me when I mentioned our email conversation. So its about 20 min till show time and I saw the actors start to roll in and film crew who worked on the shoot. It was exciting to see all of them and how fun it must have been to film this. Anyways, Frank tells everybody to start filling in and taking our seats while some interviews were going on. 20 min later they start the first show called, Just the 3 of Us ... I gotta tell ya, it was funny. I kept remembering that these were low budget productions and not to expect much. But it was made up by the writing and great acting. So 30 min later, the lights when on and Frank nad his buddy that helped produce this gig starting asking questions and leading up to GAH. Frank says who ever can tell me, how Ralph's fly, I will give you a free DVD of this show. So right away I rose my hand and I said ... Well, lets see .. Ralph takes 3 running steps and jumps up! Frank says ... Yup!! So I proudly did a stut-run up to the stage and garbed my prize! So then the show starts ... As I expected they used the same trailer opening as you saw on YouTube. but before all of that, there was a prelude voice telling us the back story of Ralph and how he came upon the suit. Yes, there was some cheese factors, but good cheese and well done. I would say, it was a lot better then what everybody saw for GAH2008. Production was better and you can tell. For the sake of the production, I wont go into much more detail than that, for they are going to want everybody to log on and find out for themselves. So when it ends, the audience of hmm, lets say it was around 100 people cheered. Frank gets up along with the cast of both shows and had a q/a session. Frank mentioned that this project was green-lit by Stephen Cannel and the another guy who apparently has the rights to the show. As long as they do not profit from this, they had all the rights to do anything they wanted. Also, the DVD I have is the same one that went to Steven to view. Also, Frank had spoken to Bill Katt about this as well and to get his take on it. This is what makes this project a more successful one then that of the GAH2008. If I didn't have plans afterwords, I would have stayed for the after drinks party and got some pics and what not. Well, I hope you all enjoyed and I will post some pics of me in Hollywood all dressed up in another thread. Will also take some photos and updates of Comic Con in a few days.

This is the best news I've heard - it has SJC's blessing as long as no money's made off it. (I do think StaytunedTV.net though does pay per so many views, but maybe that goes to the royalties people so it's square). I've thought this would be a fun take on the show (and yes, I liked what I had seen in the trailer - I felt better about this launch over the "TGAH2008") approach and that it was done as more of a tribute than actually trying to make it into a new series that they claimed to be their own. Those were my largest issues in regard to the failed "GAH2008" endeavor - though that was always directed toward the producers of that endeavor, not the actors. (I do wonder if this is being confused with the script that Katt read a few months back supposedly as a movie though. That said, it's best I don't speculate there for the off chance I inadvertently say something that while I might have as speculation, someone read as a leak.) One more question - did they say when they'd be airing the first one on StayTunedTV? I've been trying to see if it's up yet, but so far just the opening trailer.

There was a question asked at the q&a about continuing the series after this one. Franks response was "it depends on the traffic and number of hits this episode generates". So in other words, tell all your friends and family about it and watch it over and over and over and over and over, did I mention ... & over again. The one thing nobody asked was when it would be released, and I guess the reason for that was we just watched it and was not top of mind to ask. But, now that they showed it, I'm sure it will be soon.

The one thing nobody asked was when it would be released, and I guess the reason for that was we just watched it and was not top of mind to ask. But, now that they showed it, I'm sure it will be soon. I found their Facebook page (you have to ask to be included, and they'll let you in) and asked. They said that it's planned to be uploaded for viewing Saturday and to ... pardon the cliche... "Stay Tuned." Based on your comment of "this one" I wonder if that means they did just the 30 min. bit or if they have a true "season" done already? Guess I could ask there. They also had a set of photos from the event, which had a couple of Alan Rueckert and Brittany Ross (Ralph Hinkley and Ashley Rizzo) with the producers. I noticed that Rueckert doesn't have the curls any more, so they probably aren't filming anything at the time. That said, given the length of his hair in the shot I did see, I don't see why he couldn't re-dye his hair and add the curls again.

So we can clutter up the thread with links? Well, it is the youtube thread, and this could be used as a secondary thread to find the episodes. (Besides - we could have threads in the movie thread boggle down the StayTuned thread and make it hard to find. I can't sticky threads. )
