At least you didn't say "Yankees" or "Mets", then I'd have to drive over there and hurt you...

If no one other than Cabrera or Delgado hits the ball, the Marlins aren't gonna make it... Other than those two guys, the team has been soooo anti-clutch...Rest of the hitters need to start showing up and learn some situational hitting instead of trying to hit one out all the time and popping up instead. Can't wait until Cabrera hits his peak years. 22 years old and already averaging 30+ HRs and 100+ RBIs a year. If the Marlins don't build a line-up around him and Delgado next year, it'll be a waste of talent.
2003 was a great year. I was at an anti-Yankees bar for Game 6 of the World Series decked out in my Florida gear. We all did shots after Beckett tagged out Posada to end it. Man, was I hammered that night... hehehe
PS. Red Sox fans... Right around World Series time, MLB.com will start to have clearance sales on '04 World Series stuff. Last year I cleaned up on Marlins stuff. I was getting World Series hats for $3 each, World Series shirts for $5 each, and a sweatshirt for $10. If I didn't already have the DVD for '03, I would have grabbed it for cheap too.

I haven't paid attention, cuz my favorite baseball player, Edgar Martinez, has retired. And my FORMER second favorite, Randy Johnson is ( >:(evil glare ) a YANKEE now. He sucks. Turncoat. I'd say more but the filters won't allow it.

I'd say more but the filters won't allow it. LoL! The Yanks "snapped up" on Alan Embree & Mark Bellhorn from the Red Sox. Well, the Yanks can HAVE both because they quite frankly SUCKED! The Sox should've kept Pedro Martinez, Jay Payton, Nomar Garciaparra (I'm disregarding the injury), & Lou Merloni. (Also, Shea Hillenbrand.) The Sox should also get a new manager & trade Kevin Millar &, yes, Manny Ramirez. *glares* They also need to play Kevin Youkilis more. As for clearance merchandise, my dad's already got wear & tear on his cap, so maybe I'll get him a new one for real cheap.

If Manny was a bit better defensively, I'd love to see him in Florida since Miguel Cabrera worships the man. Right now, I'm happy to see what new kid Jeremy Hermida can do. I hope hitting a grand slam in his first ever major league at-bat is a sign of good things to come from the youngster.
The Cubs must wish they could have the last few years back. Not only the whole Bartman/Goat curse/playoffs against the Marlins, but they TRADED Dontrelle Willis (Now a 20 game winner) to the Marlins...Double Ouch!!!

Well, now that it's the playoffs, I'll throw in my two cents. I'd like to see the Astros play the Cardinals again for the NL pennant, but if they lose to the Braves, any team from National Division is deserving to go to the World Series. I haven't followed the American League this year too well, but I'd like to see an Angels-White Sox playoff (Angels are ahead) over White Sox-Yankees. Not that I don't like the Yankees, but I'm someone who roots for the underdogs. It was very close for the NL wild card this season, and the Phillies were a good team. Had the Astros not made it, I wouldn't have been disappointed with them advancing. It will be interesting to see who advances to the World Series this year. I've thought this season would be a wacky one, where the series will be two teams no one expected. Looks like I might be right.

Since the Mariners aren't involved, I haven't been paying attention. Anyone but the Yankums is okay by me.

Well, the Astros are going to play the Cards for the NL title, so one wish came true. Now we have to see if the Angels can beat the Yankees. If the Yankees pull it off, I want to see the White Sox win, if it's the Angels, either team, but I'm leaning toward the Angels. Man, I can't believe it took the Astros 18 innings to win Game 4, but what a way to do it, with a homer. It's the second one of these games this season (the other 18-inning game was a regular season the Blue Jays played). Kudos to the Braves for a great season, as they gave the Astros a run for their money in playoffs. (I'll admit I'm an Astros fan over Rangers. To tell you how long I've been following them, Nolan Ryan and Mike Scott were pitching, they had the "rainbow" jerseys with the stripes across the waist, and the Million Dollar Sign was still in the Dome.)

I want a Houston-White Sox series, but I am rooting for White Sox overall. Two teams that you don't see in the World Series every year, plus the WHite Sox gave my Marlins a home last year after all the hurricanes made it impossible to play in DOlphins Stadium. The WHite Sox donated all their money from the FLorida games to hurricane relief.

The WHite Sox donated all their money from the FLorida games to hurricane relief. Great way to look at it, because the Astros also help out locally and elsewhere. It would be a great series either way, as both would be considered an unlikely final two, the Astros have never been to the series, and the White Sox I believe haven't been there since 1917. (Then again, maybe I'm confusing that with the "Black Sox" scandal, so if I am, apologies.)

Yeah, and now if and when the Astros beat the Cardinals, then we'll have at least one team who has never played in a series and one who hasn't in a long time. I don't know if the Angels have been to one (movies excluded), and the White Sox haven't been in a long while. So we have three of the final four that no one would expect to be in this round. Too bad the Padres didn't win, we could have had a truly wacky World Series, but it's pretty close.
