OK, which eps of our beloved show did you think really sucked, for whatever reason. So far I haven't heard anyone mention any Season One episodes, not that I'm surprised, but someone DID say The Beast In The Black was their least favorite in one thread, so I thought we could kick it around.
If we were to go with our 5 least favorite, my list would look something like this (and, just to mix things up, you can NOT vote for Heroine this time around - just the main 44, which does include the 4 that didn't air on ABC).
[glow=red,2,900]Thirty Seconds Over Little Tokyo[/glow] [glow=red,2,900]Vanity, Says The Preacher[/glow] [glow=red,2,900]Wizards and Warlocks[/glow] [glow=red,2,900]Space Ranger[/glow] [glow=red,2,900]It's Only Rock And Roll[/glow]
(man, I guess I really DID hate the end of season 3, eh?)

Actually, "Vanity, Says The Preacher" is one of the five best episodes.
As you were.

Wizards and Warlocks along with Thirty Seconds Over Little Tokyo tie it for me as the worst episodes. Just some god awful stuff there.
Both of these episodes also had some uncomfortable xenophobic undertones to two non-Anglo cultures (Asians, Arabs) in them as well, which just felt really odd considering that was never done before previously in the series. It seemed like a couple of TV episodes that would have been made in the mid 1970s or earlier, rather then around 1983. I thought that was really an embarrassing way to go out for the show. Hmmm...maybey I can't blame ABC for not wanting to air some of these late 3rd season episodes.

Wizards and Warlocks along with Thirty Seconds Over Little Tokyo tie it for me as the worst episodes. Notice how someone actually DIES in Thirty Seconds Over Little Tokyo? That would never had happened on screen as a direct result of the suits powers if they show hadn't been originally scheduled to air in the 9-10pm Eastern/8-9pm central time slot. If it had happened during the 1st or 2nd season, it would have been a "act of God" that killed, like in The Lost Diablo. This has nothing to do with the most of what you posted Scenario, but I just thought I'd bring it up since you mentioned Thirty Seconds.

OK, color me confused. That show aired in the Thursday 7pm CST/ 8pm EST slot, right? So what exactly do you mean? They wouldn't have killed someone if the show if they knew the show was airing earlier? Just curious.

By the time it actually started airing in the Thursday night 8-9pmEastern/7-8pm Central slot, those episodes were long done and in the can. They were orignally produced with the understanding they were going to be aired 1 hour later, as seen when the 3rd season originally started.
Mu guess is by that time, ABC knowing that they planned to cancel the show anyway didn't care if anyone died because of the suits powers. Or better yet, the network liason that worked with the show didn't even remember that someone died in that respect when the episode was finally set to air.

Ah, OK. Gotcha. Just wanted to clarify. I think ABC was more concerned with the death of the SHOW rather than the characters on it. (sigh) Holy God Lord, I just saw J Man's post that stated Vanity was one of the five best episodes, then I threw up on myself...

Holy God Lord, I just saw J Man's post that stated Vanity was one of the five best episodes, then I threw up on myself... I liked Vanity quite a bit too. I admit it has problems, but I liked the return of the more complicated, serious like stories as featured in the 1st season.

Yeah, I'll give you that. But I thought it way TOO serious and disjointed. A shame too, what with the green guys coming back and all. It seemed thrown together (to me) and like it had no budget whatsoever. Then again, with all that 'support' from ABC it was given, why am I surprised...

Circle gets the square!
ABC cut the budget at the last minute and tried to shut down the show during filming of the final episode. In order to complete this episode, they had to move shooting to Robert Culp's house.
This is what I read at the time in the newspaper entertainment column. I'm assuming the inside of the Del Vera house is all Culp's home. Obviously the stuff inside the ship is heavy on stock footage, and the new footage cleverly avoids showing the aliens face (though Bill's shirt changing back and forth is a little distracting).

So I wonder if that means they knew at that point the show was no-more. Totally nuts, the thinking there... I mean, you PAY for those 4 episodes to be produced, then you don't even air them and put some crap on their place that get you WORSE ratings. Does this kind of network-ego-driven B.S. not make the 'Family Guy' situation stand out even more? That the SAME network that would cancel a show would go "Hey, you know what? We were wrong. And we order 35 new episodes." AMAZING. Has never happened before - probably will never happen again.

I liked Vanity quite a bit too. I admit it has problems, but I liked the return of the more complicated, serious like stories as featured in the 1st season. It always felt more like a 2nd season episode to me. 1st episodes tended to be low on action, and stories revolved around the personal lives of Ralph, Bill and Pam and how the suit affected them. This was a Maxwell episode and Ralph and Pam were the backup players. "Vanity", has Robert Culp's finger prints all over, it's really ambitious in it's storytelling. I really like "Lilacs", but I have mixed feelings on "Vanity" and the unfilmed Culp script about the Greatest Russian Hero and then ofcourse GAHeroine. It would be make sense that GAHeroine was Culp's idea, it's another ambitious story. He's really bold and daring with his scripts and he takes the characters in directions that were not explored before by other writers...but he also crosses into camp and silliness as well IMO.

Yeah, my feeling is that Culp should stay in front of the camera and not behind it. There's pieces of both Lilacs and Vanity that I really like, just not MANY pieces.

Hey, have those last season 3 eps ever been shown uncut? I agree with what you guys have been saying, but if Vanity and some of those others were only seen cut-up for syndication, I'd kinda want to reserve judgment on the very worst until I saw the whole thing complete.
I have to say, it's hard to hate even the worst ones completely. I have never cared for Heroine overall, but the fan in me loves that Bill, Ralph and Pam got a moment of closure to say goodbye. That scene alone is almost worth it. Almost.

BurgerAlertBoy, I completely agree. I'll either watch Heroine up to the 'goodbye' scene and then turn it off, or just watch the scene by itself. Either way, I'm glad it was produced, because I was finally able to get SOME closure.
And no, the final 4 episodes have never been shown UNCUT on the air to the best of my knowledge. I have them uncut from an inside source, and I can at least give you my opinion and say that the only one I really 'like' is Desperado. Wizards, It's Only Rock And Roll and Vanity... I just didn't care for - they didn't have the G.A.H. 'magic', to me anyway. Some good scenes here and there, sure, but overall below average.
