Um... Prometheus... I think you may have amnesia... Herald mentioned the "Star Trek:TNG" coincidence, not me. Oops! You're right! ;D I must indeed have amnesia. LOL (How come I was sure I was discussing Star Trek with you, for some reason?!) My apologies to Herald7.

I do like the "Star Trek" franchise as well (Favorite "Deep Space Nine"), but I haven't talked about that series in years.

I've only seen a few episodes of DS9, but it's a good show.

My apologies to Herald7. No problem, it's all good. Yeah Deep Space Nine had some of the best written episodes of all the series put together.

Yeah Deep Space Nine had some of the best written episodes of all the series put together. That's what I hear. Unlike the other Star Trek series, the episodes followed a continuity-----a story arc-----which could encompass several episodes. I do own a few of the very best episodes of DS9 on DVD.

Yeah now I might order some DS9 from Netflix, lol.
About the Hand Painted Thai episode though, I love how at times they were clearly struggling to find a good excuse for the characters to say "Scenario:"
Ralph: You got the transcripts there huh? You got a hot Maxwell scenario there for us?!" Lol

Joseph Culp has a small role in an episode of "Deep Space Nine". I'm not saying it's a good episode or a bad episode (it doesn't really stick out in my memory), I'm just pointing out the GAH connection.

I've always enjoyed this episode for some reason. Probably because it's the GAH version of the Manchurian Candidate. There are some great comic relief scenes spread throughout and the stunt work is especially impressive in this episode. I have the original script for THPT and the reunion between Colonel Liang and General Chow is more layered and amusing compared to what plays out on screen. The brief portrayal of Liang's total conversion of transforming into a Western Capitalist along with his awkward attempt in regressing back into the Communist mindset upon reuniting with his handler makes for an interesting read.

If Greenguy doesn't have it, maybe you could do some screenshots or a PDF download so we could all read it and it could be added to the site for posterity.

I have a whole notebook filled with my "script to screen" analysis for almost every episode, I just haven't been able to devote that kind of time to getting it online. I wish there was more than 24 hours in a day. I will pull that one out, and put those pages up for everyone to read. Hopefully, in a couple of days.

Here's some useless trivia for you guys: The actress who played Erika Van Damm in this episode now stars in the hit HGTV series "Love it or List it." Here's her website: hilaryfarr.com/

I pulled out my script, what pages are you talking about? I quickly thumbed through the scenes with the two, and my version is almost word for word what's on the screen. My copy is the 5th draft, you may have an earlier version that includes more. Or I'm just too tired and I skipped over it...LOL "Scenario" *poof* I'm out for the night.

I'll have to dig out my script, it's been over 15 years since reading through it. I do know that it was not the final draft, so a few things were likely altered. The opening scene at Liang's mansion contained additional dialog and description that provided more nuance between those two characters.
