I just watched this episode again and I feel that the episode might have made a good two-parter since Ralph was having to deal with the crooked Powers and the Pam's dad, who does not seem to like him at all. Plus, Pam and Ralph could have been working up to more of the wedding decisions and they might have had more time to make the wedding scene funnier. Finally, a two-parter might have given Faye Grant a chance to guest-star...a break in V or something.

I voted "um ..." because I thought it was a two parter ... well technically. They were engaged in one episode and married in the next. Both episodes were written by Babs and connected to one another, so I always thought of them as two parters.

Yes, but the ONE THE SUIT WAS MEANT FOR wasn't a wedding episode and the Carlini episode came between them, so it did not seem like a two-parter to me. Plus, both had different and ending storylines, so it seemed that they were different. I do agree with some rumblings I heard that Pam and Ralph should have fought longer in the ONE THE SUIT WAS MEANT FOR and then had that spread out a couple of episodes, then get back together and have a two-part wedding episode. Of course, I am biased since I set up the poll.

I see your point, but Carlini was not SUPPOSE to go between them since they were already married in that episode. ABC was just rearranging the episodes for their own pleasure.

They were married in that episode? I just watched it today and I never heard her referred to as Pam Hinkley...Bill called her Pam Davidson, an attorney.

Did he? Check their fingers, I know they had wedding rings, but I am sure that they did air a few marriage episodes before the actual marriage episode. Perhaps I am thinking of a different episode, but were they not living together in the same bedroom? Anyway, the episodes were intended to run back to back.

They probably were meant to run back-to-back, but the wedding episode itself still felt haphazard to me and that is the reason for the poll. The two episodes together are still very chaotic on some parts...and I think that a definite two-part wedding episode would have been better.

Maybe true, but I think that Culp's episode would have been much better as a two parter. It just seemed like they squished too much into an hour and a lot of it didn't make as much sense as it could have. May be the same with the wedding episode as well, but Culp's still stands out to me as the best candidate for a two parter. Speaking of which ... GAH never had a two parter. Good idea or not?

Well, in syndication, the pilot is a two-parter, but I think it would have helped at times, especially for more involved scripts...both of Culp's would have worked that way. I think the wedding episode would have been a good one too. Maybe even WIZARDS AND WARLOCKS...so it did not seem so quick and rushed in that one too. Of course, three of my four suggestions are third season ones, so that would have upset people...you hate that happening all the time.

Does no one else have an opinion on the wedding episode? Milton and I are dominating the discussion...and the voting since only four people have voted.

I've seen it twice (& my brain is telling me that I'm not remembering it very well) but I DO remember it enough... to remember the ending. *snore* Poor Ralph. I thought it was a good episode, but it definitely could've been a two-parter, easily.

I voted "Yes," even though I haven't actually seen it. How could I vote yes then? Simply based on many commentaries I've seen on it. I've read that for building and building it for two seasons, it was very much a letdown on something that could've been extended and really showcase their nuptials.

I thought it was fine as a single episode, so I voted no. Does anyone know for sure about Carlini though? I thought I checked one time and saw that they WEREN'T wearing wedding rings, so it makes me wonder when that episode was filmed / was supposed to air, etc.

The episodes were getting shuffled around very quickly into the 3rd season due to the fact the show was getting stomped on in the ratings by Knight Rider. After previewing The Newlywed Game, ABC made the decision to yank the wedding episode in favor of another. Saving the wedding episode for the series return after the first of the year. Not the first time airdates had been changed with the show. The 2nd seasons premiere episode was to have been Operation: Spoilsport, and ABC even sent the press material out to all the affilaites indicating so. ( I have the press photo along with ABC's info indicating it's to be the season premiere) Then at the eleventh hour decided to change it to The 200 Mile-An-Hour Fastball. I doubt if we will ever know the true order that the 3rd season was to be broadcast. I believe after the 1st 2 weeks ABC started shuffling them around to try and bring the numbers up.

I didn't think they were married in that episode of Carlini. What about you GREENGUY? What did you vote? Or did you? I am curious since you are the resident expert on the show.

No, actually I didn't vote. I didn't have a selection that fit how I feel about the episode. I didn't think it was too haphazard, although I do think it was a bit rushed in spots. I didn't think it was a great episode, such as My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys, Operation: Spoilsport, etc. Really good for a third season episode, and of course it scores bonus points for finally allowing Ralph and Pam to get married. Plus you gotta love Bill's dialogue: "aahhh come on, you've all seen this a million times in the movies, he does, and she does till death do us part. Thanks chaplin, we really appreciate it. Come on kids...lets hit the silk." Gotta give it extra points just for Culp's delivery of those lines.... ;D

I agree, especially with Bill's lines and delivery as well as the feeling of being rushed. I think that the wedding scene worked well, but it almost seemed out of place...I think a two-parter would have allowed them to develop the other parts more and then still have a wedding scene like that, if not written and delivered even better by Culp. That is the point behind the poll...

I think a two-parter would have been great. There could have been lots more of Tony! I agree, also, that it would have been great if Faye Grant could have been there also. She belonged there.

THAT GIRL, do you think Tony and Rhonda should have gotten married on the series...right after high school sort of a thing?
