I was pretty close to buying this any way, based on just the outside of the instruction book; thanks for showing it in more detail, maxwell-fbi! Iron-on sounds cool too. Dunno about the cape, however.
Hey, my hair's starting to look rather Ralph-ish (blonde & curly), maybe I'll take a pic, upper body, of me in the t-shirt, cape and holding the book! LOL yeah, that's the ticket.

Well, I got my 80tees.com suit in time for Halloween, and my collector's set of the DVDs the next day, so I thought I'd post some pics of the book along with some screencaps so you can compare. The cover corners aren't rounded (fixable), the heiroglyphics are completly different, and there's some changes in the placement of the text. On the other hand, very clever use of the lenticular material for the changing languages on the index page. It's a really nice piece, but if you're gonna go 90% of the way, why not go the rest???: As for the suit, I had the missus take it in a bit here and there and made a temporary belt out of a vinyl placemat until I get a better buckle. I also addes some snaps for the cape not only to hold it closed, but to attach it to the collar of the suit. Steve

My sister is thinking about getting me the deluxe set for Christmas. She asked, How many more DVDs do you need to complete the series? I said, Well, I've got them all. Sis: So why do you need this too? Me: The INSTRUCTION book! Sis: I read a review where someone said it's not even complete. Me: It's how they show it in one episode, where we don't see more than the inside contents.
She wanted to check Half-Price Books. I pointed out that aren't they USED things? She said, I think so. I said, Well I don't want a USED one, silly! Whoever had it wouldn't give BACK the instruction book, now would they?
I want the book and iron-on, basically, lol... so I told her a DVD PLAYER would be better, one with a TV or built-in screen already. My old TV doesn't have the ports to connect a player, and her 27" TV's picture tube is blown (that was fun... sitting there watching a show and BLIP! there goes the screen. that fast.)

I want the book and iron-on The book is awesome, but don't kill yourself over the iron-on. It's only 3 or 4 inches wide. When I read about it, I figured it was a full-size logo, but no such luck... Steve

Too bad she claimed the nick first. As for the iron-on....eep! I thought it was a full-sized one! Well, I could make a bag and put it on there, couldn't I? Hmmm? I think Walmart should have GAH t-shirts, like a lot of their shirts are doing all these "nostalgic" and "old school" tshirts lately (eg, a MASH 4077th shirt). They don't realize how GAH tshirts would sell like hotcakes, do they?

nope They're a bunch of Fools & as Mr. T Says "I Pitty The Fool!" lol Too bad they don't have that Mr. T shirt too. Actually, I think WalMart realizes that even with the DVD sales, some people may not remember the show. I think it would be great to have an emblem-shirt to buy, but after the loyal fans get it, it would probably cause them to lose money.

Ok, so maybe this is obvious but I can't tell. Does the book open at the tabs, or is that part of the book just solid with tabs kind of added on to the block?
I love the pics where the shapes are lit up. Makes it look pretty darn cool.

I love the pics where the shapes are lit up. Makes it look pretty darn cool. It's been just one piece with the tabs attached I believe. Never knew why it was that way. In "Divorce," it's also the one piece. The sad thing is, when you read the little booklet in the third season collection, the book was supposed to light up when Ralph pressed the buttons (it was rigged that way). They didn't use it in the episode, and the only thing that did happen was the alien text turned into English. On the flip side, it's cool that they remembered that little detail and made it where the book did light up. pretty cool.
