What about Brendan Fraser? He was great in "Blast from the Past". I can't imagine snyone but Robert Culp as Bill Maxwell, but what about Tommy Lee Jones? Both these guys are critically acclaimed comedic and dramatic actors. Just a thought.

I wonder if they care, though? And Brendan, of course, cuz he's a Seattle boy.

OWEN Wilson? More like LUKE Wilson, at least he's good looking. Owen's a mutt and my sister still hasn't forgiven TPTB for using him in the role of her beloved Ken Hutchinson.
I didn't really like ANY of the choices, but I had to go with Bruce Campbell, just cuz he rocks.
I liked the Brendan Fraser idea, actually.

I figure, with a bleach job he could pull it off. I could see him being the "caring teacher" of the "troubled students" as well as crashing into walls!
P.S. How about Christopher Walken as Carlisle?

Definitely not anyone listed above. Most of those choices are about as ludicrous as some mentioned in the casting of the A-Team movie. We might as well have Jim Carrey play H.M. Murdock AND Ralph Hinkley since he has been a sort-of superhero in THE MASK or when he played the Riddler. But the problem is that most of these people will suck, like Leo, or they will be too comedic-oriented like Wilson. Maybe there is an undiscovered talent out there to play Ralph...now where did I put that card for that agent?

Phil Hartman would've made a great Carlisle.

I concur with that completely. Of course, so did William Bogert...but who is left today to play such a part of evil boss?

I got another prospect...John De Lancie ("Q" from Star Trek" The Next Generation)....as Carlisle.

Good choice, but he is more the evil villain in all his parts, so I think that he would be a better bad guy. Carlisle is technically a good guy.

How about none of the above. I do not like grabbing big stars and sticking them in a role that may not suit them. Find an unknown who HATES wearing the suit (like Katt did) and stick him with some stars. No one says the main character has to be big star.

The problem with being a relative unknown though...we can't suggest them very well if we know of all their great work. However, I think they should have Billy Katt perform a song or two of his for the movie...work it in somehow.

I know a lot of people believe that the next Greatest American Hero should be blonde, but maybe we need an actor that we know can pull off the part of hating to have to wear the suit and do things. To that end, we could put Kyle Chandler in Ralph's shoes. Kyle did a great job as Gary in EARLY EDITION. He hated getting the paper, had personal problems, but still tried his best to get the job done without losing his mind. That show would be good for fanfic too...a crossover of GAH and EARLY EDITION.

I think a good Bill Maxwell would be Richard Dean Anderson...he has played Colonel Jack O'Neill AND MacGyver...I think he could handle the part.

Who would make a good Pam? Who has the necessary sex appeal and that same wit and intelligence at delivering lines and faces? I am drawing an intergalatic blank.

Kate Hudson?
(totally off the top of my head)

I don't know...that might work. I guess I am trying to conceive of a young enough actress that has the strength to play Pam. Someone suggested Andie MacDowell to me, but she is not exactly the spring chicken she once was...even though she still looks great.

Kate might work, but I guess I see the person playing Pam to be a higher caliber person...not that Kate Hudson isn't, but I have only seen in her HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS...and that is not exactly a Pam Davidson-like role to me.

Ya know, i can't really see anyone else but Katt in the red jammies either....i can't see how anyone else could do it justice and leave it untainted. I can't think of anyone good enough to fill Culp and Cellica's shoes either...their all just so awesome together, i kinda hope they leave it alone......but if they don't i really agree that they should probably get an unknown to play Ralph, and he should be Kevin, his son, and i love Bruce Campbell, he could pull off Maxwell probably with his dry sarcastic humor, and Pam, i dunno, definitely not Amanda Pete.....she doesn't even have the look....i'd probably pick an undiscovered unknown there too. But the bottom line is this; if this movie gets made and the three they pick don't have chemistry together onscreen it's gonna be crap, it just wont work. The way they interact with eachother and play off of eachother is one of the main reasons the show is so completely awesome in the first place...i remember watching this show when i was five years old, and it stuck in my mind so vividly that it's always stayed with me, and when i found out it was being released on dvd, i about peed myself i was so thrilled, and i'm sure alot of other people felt the same way...so, i think maybe Hollywood should just leave it alone, you should never mess with a classic.
