Just for kicks, I put my son in my old TGAH costume. He's just a little smaller than me, but overall it's not a bad fit. Especially for a raggy 20 year old costume. I think he looks just about as good as Paul Koslo did in Hog Wild, but I don't think he'll be jumping off any barns.

But did you try punching him in the stomach, and did he break your hand, or fall thru the door behind him and onto the biker chicks on the bed?

The really big question is: What did your son DO to not only agree to put on the red stretchies, but to have his picture in them plastered on the Internet for all to see? ;D

I was going to have him go outside, and we could have faked him picking up the front of the car. lol..no way was he going outside. ;D He has no clue I put it up on the site. But I don't believe any of his friends will be visiting here, so imagine he's safe. oh but he did say he'd go in and pick up a pizza, inside.. wearing the suit, for 20 bucks...lol. So that's the going rate I guess to get your son to put on tights and a cape and appear in public.

Greenguy, I didn't even realize you were a father and had a son. Well, the father to older child who is a teenage looking son anyway. He looks to be at least 13-15 years of age. I love my own father, but when I was a kid I would have NEVER done something like that for my old man. If his friends or the guys at school catch wind of this, you've ruined him! He'll be sentenced to a lifetime of psychotherapy over this. ;D

He's a good kid to humor the old man and put on tights....lol. He'd be much happier wearing a Biker Scout uniform from Return of The Jedi. I'm pretty certain none his friends are aware of TGAH. So I think he's safe. If not he can say it was Halloween, or plead "soft walls" as Bill would say. ;D

You've got a suit that will fit someone 6'1"?!? Where did you say you lived there in Indiana? You work the night shift, right?

How I long for my Germany days when I was a slim 200 lbs. okay...lol, I gotcha. ;D He's around 155 lbs, and it was made for me when I was 180 lbs. I'm 188 lbs now, so I can still wear it. But it's just getting a little worn out because of the age. I'm going to get a new one made one of these days.

Maybe to save my life, but I'm not sure! LOL! Well he said he'd go out in public for $20, but we never did it. If we had, I have a feeling it would have been a Train of Thought moment: Ralph: I'm not getting outta this car. Bill: You are! Ralph: I'm not!! lol ;D

I bet if he were a known hollywood actor playing the superhero part he would have no problem at all showing off in public like that. I remember Teen Wolf when Michael J. Fox was known to all the school to be a wolf and he enjoyed the success coming from it. Katt must have felt a bit that way when TGAH was at its peak popularity but he was worried about stereotyping his career. It all has to do with what others may think. I would be ashamed to go out in red jammies too.
Btw, greenguy: is that costume a custom replica or an original tgah one? It appears more like a Season1 to me (not sure about the color of the shoes).

I had it made way back around 1985/86. At the time, I had it made as close to the 1st season as I could. Red's are so hard to photograph, but the shoes are actually a slightly different red with my costume. Actually you could catch that from time to time on the series too. The shoes sometimes were a slightly different shade of red. Or, at least they appeared that way to me, from time to time. In my case, I had to take what I could get for my costume.

very well done indeed, I almost couldn't tell the difference, considering that in those days getting a custom model done as perfect as this was not easy I guess.

I appreciate those good words! You are right, it was tough back then to get a decent replica made. I didn't have hardly any of the information then, about the costumes construction, material, etc as I do now. Still, if a person wants a "suit" of their own, they still have to find a decent seamstress in their area. So I can understand their frustration.

I had seen this thread, but hadn't actually read it I guess. Wow, huh? Nice suit, GG! You never looked that tall in your pictures. Of course, the suit you have wouldn't fit me even if I did steal it because it would be too small...I am almost 6'7." You should up that deal again with your son one weekend and do a Chelsea Cannell sort of spoof around town and post THAT here.
